So impressed with the versaility of the custom firmware, and such a shame that it is pretty well forgotten by Humax it seems, though will be interested to see if the "updated browser" for the portal ever appears and whether the IPTV services would kick in then too....
One think I haven't...
That should be all it needs... works for me, ok over VPN in but port forwarding would be the same. Are you sure it is port 80 you forwarded to the humax, maybe used a different port for it and translated in your router using NAT/PAT?
http://x.x.x.x/ should prompt for logon...
Possibly. I was just wondering if it was the reboot, or by adding a new entry using the remote control to the schedule would also trigger it to pickup the changes you make from the WebIf.
I suppose as it shows the changes queued up then it plays these changes back into the database after a...
I suppose I meant more, if you add an entry in the schedule through the remote control does that trigger it to pickup the changes from the Webif schedule, or the whole db replaced after reboot?
BTW it is working perfectly from tablet and phone now. Don't know what the issue was before but cleared down browser and all working well. It is a little slow to respond to multiple presses like turning volume up etc. (naturally) but has already been used for real as the controller has...
@af123 - Not sure, sorry. Both were quick tries from Android built in browser - one on 4.x and other on older 2.x OS. This was from wireless on same LAN as the Humax. from PC on same subnet works fine.
The Android browser has very little config. available and is on defaults mainly...
Excellent, REALLY useful actually, never fails to amaze me what you guys do. Only better could be when you write a native android app. to go with the XMBC one etc.
Now surely that opens up the possibility to, say, enter some changes through the UI if needed, e.g. adding a timer "manually" to...
Well.. having read this have ordered a Raspberry Pi - been meaning to as soon as they became easier to get anyway but prodded me into action. Have been playing around with the DLNA client from other machines and can see everything OK on Win 7 and Android but everything shows as unsupported file...
Thanks, that sounds logical. When something takes > 5 minutes does a second instance trigger though?
I have turned on a few folders again and will see how it goes. There shouldn't be anything new being recorded into the folders which is why it was a little odd, and all entries show shrunk...
I marked some folders when auto-shrink became available and saw files shrink but found everything on the "Media" button going very slow (or rather "why is this thing so slow now..."). Took off the auto-shrink and goes normal again. Had flagged couple of dozen folders again and got back some...
I haven't done any renaming from the remote either since web-if ... but have seen the odd random .hmt file showing up in the web-if list after doing some renames. Will see if I can pin-point when it appears next time I do some.

Completely agreed.... I think (hope) we all understand the risks in any upgrades / amendments -- working in IT for 20 years, running a software business while at school, and writing several systems for risk assessors I have to.
We all like fiddling with gadgets though :-)
I agree on keeping the directory structure under Deleted items frankly, the general idea is an excellent one in case of accidental finger press, or that of family member "cleaning up". Now that the clash is known I suppose the seriesfiler just needs to read the config. for the "undelete"...
Blackhole -- Agreed, though wife who was gradually catching up on 40 or more Home and Aways is not popular... though that is nearly half a working week's worth of time that could be productively used to .... well watch some other rubbish...
Thanks for all the responses, I do understand that now... undelete doesn't have a "deleted time" and just sees the old "modified time" does it's job (very efficiently!) and deletes, just frustrated and wished I'd seen the series filer / undelete thread rather than one just talking of undelete :-(
Sadly I only dip in here every now and again and hadn't seen that particular one, from about Jan by the looks. The undelete package I had seen mentioned the other day and sounded like a good idea but the two together are just a disaster. I stupidly thought the no. of days for the [deleted...
Hmm, that figures. The dustbin was set to 2 days... unfortunately clearly it doesn't base it on the time it was deleted but something else -- i.e. why I still have two entries (really manually) deleted last night dated May 8th, May 9th and then June 18/19/20 in the deleted items folder...
