      sorry cant say on that, i wasn't a beta tester, i may be wrong, but i doubt a normal dongle will work, some kind of driver normally needed, you can use a second router, just set it up as a station, it worked for me, i went with homeplugs because of the layout of my house (barriers,walls) signals...

      wireless:- go wireless n 300Mb. the chances are you will get no where near the 300Mb mark. wireless works best in open air, walls and barriers will affect the signal, sometimes can be a pain to setup. no control over the signal. good for laptops, phones. expertise needed medium homeplug:- go...

      yes. the surge protector acts like a filter, homeplug would have to be mains side of the surge protector, for it not to be affected

      i was going to mention inductive loads, but i dismissed that because i would have expected anything coming off the transformers to be around the 50Hz mark, and as homeplugs work at higher frequencies with a band pass filter, that they wouldn' t be affected that much more homework is needed i think

      if it drops to 100Mb that will handle HD no problem, and AV2 spec. should be out the back end of this year, which will be backward compatible with AV spec.

      but as the v no. is out,and they seem happy to talk about it now, the problems they have had along the way, are more than likely to come out. so if there is any aggro it will happen anyway they might as well let beta testers talk about it now (it makes no sense to keep them quiet)

      not even sure if that is true. one of the sockets where i have a homeplug, as humax, xbox360, dvd, av, tv and a lamp (ok the equipment may not be power hungry), and i still average 150Mb, i've even tried homeplug on different cct's (downring to upring and downring to cooker), and still average...

      not sure (DRM ect), your in a better position than me though, i've a 9200 and hdr. i've tried ethernet on 9200 (CAM, serial,USB,AIR VENTS at the back of the unit. but cable won't fit) if you do try, let us know how you get on

      i know its been said before on this thread, but its starting to annoy the misses. when channels aren't available, due to recordings, gray out the guide 9200 style, please

      isnt that one of the selling points, or will be, being able to watch something from one humax on another

      i doubt that the OTA will be the portal update, as there is still no beta released, for us mere mortals to try first

      if you used a homemade coax, make sure there are no strands from the screen touching the conductor, also if you use a booster place the booster has close to the aerial as you can

      if the conductor is broken, the conductor could still form a cct, however the characteristic's of the cable would change everytime it moved.
