     So, to be clear - I can copy the files off external drive 1 onto a pc or mac, then copy them again onto external drive 2?      I had an external backup (Seagate 1TB USB HDD with a load of stuff on (which wasn't all on the internal HDD - I'd copied off a failing internal drive before replacing it) as I've had two internal drives fail so far.      I've recently a) installed CFW 2.20 and b) installed a new HDD (same as originally fitted) to my Hummy.      Thanks again, I'll have a better look, after I've replaced the HDD and reloaded the CFW. Step one this evening I think - format the external HD and start copying files, hopefully before the internal HD dies completely!
