Yes padding disables AR. Yes the daily briefings have failed a lot of recordings. Recordings are made at the scheduled time adjusted by padding settings. Box no longer wakes up early to watch for AR start recording signal. Yes AR will affect all set series recordings.
It came up on a search. It started to install. The box shut down and would not respond to the remote. I pulled the power and restored it. It came back up with the installing screen. This was then OK and the install completed. After the box rebooting all the on demand services were working.

A post on another forum states Humax states the current phased update should hit all boxes by later this week. However some posts that have the new software say it has completely broken on demand services.
Thinking about this. If the box can't load a update file the only way I can see is persuade someone with a working box is to remove the drive and using software like macrium reflect to image the drive to a new one connected in a PC drive cradle.
You could also try removing the drive and...
Longshot - I have a HDF that carries out the same function as a factory reset. It is useful if you get a box and don't know the PIN. Mystified how you managed to get a box without a loader. It's not something you can delete as a users
Ask if you want to try this
Ah without a bootloader the box cannot start up from sby. Mine is UKSFAA 1.08 . That's the latest with the redundant feature for Humax use.
The latest software is UKSFA 3.00.96 that came in 2019 without any details from Humax. Afaik it was never released for usb flashing.
The newest...
Why are you attempting to download a new bootloader that will make sod all difference to the box ? What fault do you have that you think a newer bootloader will fix ? The newer one only gave Humax engineers a way into the box to find bugs. It is of no use to anyone other than Humax.
Not...
There is no fault.
There is no need to download and install a update to the downloader installed at the last Humax firmware update dating back to the 2016 olympics. This was to fix the the box problem to not be able to record the redd button olympic streams.
The previous factory loader...
Vbr increases the bitrate when there is a lot of rapid movement. Statmuxing will pinch bandwidth from channels on the same mux with less demanding content. To see this you would need to look at the other channels on the same mux. Basically every mux has a maximum bitrate. This is shared...
The drive is too fast for the sata controller in the Foxsat.
You should have used a Seagate pipeline drive.
You need a jumper fitting to pins 5 & 6 to make the drive SATA 2 compatible. Seagate drives make the adjustment automatically
The G2 twin tuner boxes cannot record to a external USB Drive. So it's a non option.
You can install a up to a 2TB drive (the original drive is a Seagate Pipeline. My much used early box is now on it's 2nd drive, You can check the drive by connecting it in a usb sata drive cradle to a PC...
See this thread especially the last post by Raydon. Locate the Ip address used by your Foxsat. Open cmd window. Type telnet followed by your IP address. You should see command prompt chanhe to Foxsat HDR.

You need the convert files add on to convert the audio precedence to the main audio track. Or simply use the other audio track
Matters not a sod. Neither platform has ever broadcast 720p. In fact true 720p has a higher bitrate than 1080i because it's 50 fps. Your post was complete rubbish. The encoder remarks re the BBC apply equally to Freeview and satellite.
