could losing a connection to the internet cause the box to crash?
I was just watching a recording and approx 18 mins in i got the blank screen i mentioned before. As i looked at the screen i saw a brief message saying that the youview box had lost connection to the net and i should check my...
Hi Everyone,
my DTR-T1000 has started crashing over the last couple of weeks.
It only seems to happen when watching a recording or when recording a programme (either in Standbye or whilst watching another recording). It's because of this that i believe it might be a failing HDD.
Whilst...
there has been lots of dsicussion about this on the youview forum
https://community.youview.com/youview/topics/scheduled-recording-only-recording-3-mins-then-stops
The general consensus seems to be that it's a software issue
Any way to fix it Black Hole?
The box now is supposed to be recording Homeland on 4+1 and I'm a Celebrity on ITV+1. Both recordings show they last for around 3/4 mins but when I tried to watch BBC1 live it said I would have to cancel one of the recordings. This suggest that the box thinks it's...
I have started having the same problem on my DTR1000. It was OK up until a few days ago.
Recordings either fail or it only records a couple of minutes of the programmes.
Tonight for example, strictly recorded 47 seconds.
Looking at the recordings list now, It tells me Atlantis is recording but...
Ok, thanks again. I'll probably go down the route of a Manager's special from Humax Direct at £129.00 as I like having the custom firmware option and all the cool things you can do with it (like decrypt recordings :().
Today the unit powers up for a couple of minutes. Who knows maybe if i leave...
I installed Ext2fsd, opened up the HDD and assigned a drive letter. When i could see the HDD in windows explorer i navigated to the videos folder and tried a) opening a .ts file from there with VLC and Media Player - both hung, b) copied the .ts over to my laptop and tried to open again in VLC...
At the risk of sounding like a numpty.... the PSU is the board on the left of the box as you look at it correct? Where the power cable comes in. I just need to be sure before I carry on.
I don't suppose the one on a 9200T would be the same would it? Is there a how-to video somewhere that show...
Thought so but needed to ask.
Thanks everyone for all the help and advice over the last 24 hours. I'm off to pour myself a very large V&T and sob a little.
Right.. I guess that's it then. VLC hangs when I try to open a recording from the HDD
One final question and then i'll let it go.... if I got a second hand T2 and put this HDD in it would the files still be encrypted or would the second hand box adopt it as it's own and allow to copy to an...
here are the details of the socket issue http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/network-connection-stopped-working
I have tried without the dongle but the box still crashes. I attached it again so that I could try to telnet to the box and try a fix disk again. The lid is off and it looks fine to me -...
Thanks MontysEvilTwin (and others). I just tried to switch the box on and it started to count down from 59 and flicked the wait on the front panel but then goes to standby after approx. 10 seconds. This gets worse. Anyone know why it does that?
The only connections to the box are power and my...
I don't know if I did. If I was aware of the facility at the time then I think I would have done. If only the damn box would stay up long enough for me to try it out :)
I know in the past I have been able to copy files over from the hummy via ftp or using the copy facility from the gui media browser. My assumption therefore was that I would be able to copy the SD recordings at least directly from the HDD now the box is dead. is that not the case?
I cannot copy...
Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions but I think I have to accept that it's dead. It won't even stay up now for more than a minute or two.
Given that the HDD is disconnected I doubt that reformatting it would resolve this issue so I won't bother. I'll hopefully be able to rescue the SD...
