Hmm, it won't seem to install on my HDR (CF 1.02.32 2.21), although has done on SWMBO's identically set up HDR. When I click on 'install' in the available packages window a popup window appears, fills with text but disappears again too fast for me to read. The lighttpd line in 'available...
It is possible to stream it if the renderer is able to understand how to decode the stream. From personal experience, decrypted (and unprotected) HD certainly works to the likes of VLC, XBMC on a PC as well as certain iPad Apps etc., but maybe your TV simply doesn't know how to handle the HD...
I'm talking specifically about iPad access to the Humax using the iOS VLC app, not a web browser VLC plugin. If you are connecting to the Humax via a method other than DLNA (also known as uPnP) than that is what you'll get if the content is not decrypted. DLNA access decrypts on the fly as it is...
Interesting that cheap (Android?) tablets work better than earlier iOS devices. Before having an iPad Air, the best playback I'd managed was on SWMBO's iPhone 5. This was still a little bit stuttery, but better than the iPad3 had been, leading me to believe that progressively more powerful...
Your mileage may vary in terms of getting HD content from the Humax to play on the iPad, although SD is always fine. When I used both an original iPad and also an iPad3, it resulted in badly stuttering playback, since I think they struggled for horsepower in terms of decoding. I now have an iPad...
If you set up the webif to decrypt all files in place shortly after they are created then you can stream any Humax content across the network. I regularly stream both SD and HD to my iPad.
No, I think he's saying why are there any at all? And given that there were lots of recording previously then why are two in particular appearing rather than all or none?
Thanks af123. I'd imagine it would need to check the entire folder structure, since sweeper could have moved any newly created folders to a lower level than "My Video" already.
Thought I might enquire about a possible enhancement to Newk to counter the scenario described below...
On SWMBO's HDR, she often sets new scheduled series recordings from the EPG on the night that they are due to start. Given that no reboot happens prior to the recording, then the first...
Thanks af123. I think there still may be an issue with file size reporting though. Below is an example from the diagnostics page for rsvsync.log. Note that it claims to be 31 bytes, but is obviously larger than that.
>>> Contents of /var/log/rsvsync.log 31 bytes

Same here. The vast majority of my programmes are now like this. Anything less than 1GB seems to be OK, whilst some that are more than this are also OK, but not many.
Same here. I barely use the TV Portal, and if I do then it's only iPlayer very occasionally, and so long as iPlayer actually plays the programmes I want OK (which it does) then I can live with the older version. I cannot, however, live with the laggy EPG.
Have you reinstalled the Samba package? I know it's definitely required to access the Humax as a server on a Windows PC, but may be needed the other way round too (Humax as the client)?
I have what could be a related issue. I've lost BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD and ITV1 HD from my webif EPG (renumbered as channels 1,2,3 with SD equivalents deleted). I'm not using favourites but simply all my channels (about 20 in total after deletions). Can't find a way to get them back. SWMBO's machine...
Have been running 1.02.32 CF 2.21 with no problems for some time, and decided to try 1.03.06 CF2.21 today out of curiosity. Immediately noticed the laggy EPG problem in comparison to SWMBOs HDR (still on 1.02.32 CF 2.21). Did a factory reset to flush the EPG and removed any redundant schedule...
Correct, it's 'mp3' in the sense that some mp3 players will be happy with it, but not all. In reality it's mp2. There's really no feasible way of producing anything more compatible within a reasonable timescale due to lack of system resources.
I seem to remember reading elsewhere here that 1.03.06 may actually be a retrograde step for 'standard' operations (i.e. not TV portal), because basic EPG browsing was perceived as more sluggish compared to 1.02.32 by those who'd tried it.
I've gotten an iPad Air today, and this has the horsepower to stream HD directly from the Humax without the need to transcode via Plex. My previous iPad 3 struggled to do this. I'm using nplayer for this at the moment. VLC works as well and is free, although the app has less features.
