Anyone manages to play media from USB?
Various but mainly mp3 and mp4 It works fine on both my Windows desktop and my chrome book Just not recognised by the 4000 The drive light comes on so the hardware is fine I do get a message pop-up saying "USB device not recognised" Have tried with 2 devices So I'm beginning to wonder whether...- Member 7823

New update landing 2nd week in Nov
Had a bout of my 4000 keeps restarting itself Humax sent me a returns note to replace it Told me yesterday to hang on for a few weeks because they have been having problems with some boxes and there is a new update being released 2nd week in Nov My box hasn't restarted just lately so I'm ok Just...- Member 7823

I have a 1 terabyte external SSD USB drive and I keep all my media on it all my videos are on it all my music is on it and all my photos The 4000 has a USB port and I was hoping I could just plug it in and watch all my media from the 4000 Unfortunately the 4000 doesn't recognise it at all...- Member 7823

Have you tried reformatting the hdd to make sure you have a clean start?? I've tried connecting an external USB drive but my 4000 doesn't read any of them Sent from my GEM-702L using Tapatalk- Member 7823

Yes apologies for mixing up the search function with the genre browse function which only searches for two hours the search function magnifying glass will search for the next seven days only issue I have with that is there's no detail to tell you which episodes you've actually found in which...- Member 7823

You can cast from the YouTube app on your phone to the 4000 And when it works it's fantastic because youtube clips and now a lot of high definition and the sound quality is As Good as It Gets and my 4000 is connected to my hi-fi and to a 50 inch screen so the net result is brilliant and we...- Member 7823

actually we can and we allllllll do it allllll the time It's called logic I once dropped in apple and it fell to the ground I do not need to drop a cantaloupe to know it will do *exactly* the same And I've never even seen a cantaloupe!!!! As I've already said I can't speak for those obscure Humax models but I've had dozens of DVR and all of them without exception save the whole program that's already been recorded in memory from beginning to end no matter when you press the record button I've just tried it on the 4000 and it...- Member 7823

My First DVR was a Philips one and that would record 8 hours in the Buffer and you could save any one of the many programs that was stored in it and I could get home at tea time and rewind all the way to watch a movie at lunch time movie Are you suggesting that there are other PVRs that defy...- Member 7823

I'm not sure what you mean by You View can't do it because that's not a DVR that's just the TV Guide but you don't have to worry about the 4000 (which also uses you view tv guide) because when you press record it will save the whole program from beginning to end no matter when you press it...- Member 7823

Not even tried it on the 4000 just loads of other dvrs since my first Philips one way back in 2003 I'm amazed the Fox 2 has to because technically reeeeeeewinding through digital memory just to save it is as redundant as vhs and I would be disappointed if you have to do that on the 4000 Sent...- Member 7823
