Hi, Humax don't have the PSU. The guy I spoke to was unsure if that part is discontinued or not, but certainly not in stock at the moment.
Regarding a noise suppressor, could you give a little more detail? Do you mean something on the mains input, or something internal?
Thanks,
Tony S
Hi,
Our HDR Fox T2 has been identified as creating radio interference, of frequency and strength sufficient to interfere with ADSL broadband, the so-called "REIN". The recommendation from Openreach is to either replace the unit, or replace the power supply. The interference continues as...
Hi,
A while ago we lost all the HD channels, and as a result the Humax failed to record a couple of programs on the 20th October. I got an email alert next morning, which is great. However it continues to send the same email every morning, still referring back to that failed recording on...
Out of interest, what do you recommend at the PC end? I can stream to the Nexus tablet with a uPnP, or to the Mac with VLC player, but the PC version of VLC player doesn't appear to work (just goes into "not responding" when you select Playlist/uPnP).
Ours worked fine on 1080p from when we first got the Humax until yesterday when HD stopped working altogether. Now they're back, it is still perfect at 1080p. The funny thing is that we don't get any intermittent issues so no prior warning. I can only assume that the connector on the aerial...
Thanks, I didn't realise the bandwidth on HDMI was so high. It's cheap cable, so will sort out something better for that. I agree that aerial alignment may not need to be spot on, but I think our aerial has shifted as I can't remember it being that far out of vertical. It's an easy check.
Thanks everyone. Sounds to me like the aerial flying lead is the issue, in particular the connector at the outlet end. I need to rework the aerial cabling in any case, but will have to make some temporary improvement just now. Channels are correct, and according to Wolfbane all three have...
Hi,
We haven't had HD compatible equipment until a month or so ago when we got the Humax HDR-FOX. We're served from a relay so only have the three Muxes 1 (ch58), 2 (49) and HD (54). All were properly picked up when we first did a channel scan.
Yesterday we found we'd suddenly lost all...
OK, thanks everyone. BetaFTPD now working, with all the normal ftp command line functions apparently working. (By the way, apparently the inbuilt server wants you to use "dir" instead of "ls" for directory listing). Filezilla Portable also copied onto the home PC and working.
Thanks again...
Quick one .. does the box need to be rebooted to switch from the built-in ftp server to the CF BetaFTPD? I have the package loaded but if I switch off FTP in the standard options screen it doesn't work - from the command line it connects but doesn't prompt for username, from Filezilla it gets...
Thanks, I'll do that. I did actually load the custom firmware ftp server (BetaFTPD) but missed the fact that the inbuilt one needs to be switched off. I must admit I'm not sure whether Mac ftp client defaults to active or passive so that could have been the issue (Windows not switching to...
Thanks for the tips. I had enabled ftp in my original settings, but checked again just in case. Presumable if it wasn't enabled I wouldn't be able to open the connection in the first place?
I think I've found the issue though. I read your blog but I (rashly?) ignored the suggestion to use...
Hi,
What's the best way of loading video files onto the Humax?
I've seem references to using FTP but can't get that to work (I can ftp, open the connection, login, but no commands can be executed - not even ls which returns "502 command not implemented". Just for the hell of it I tried...
Thanks. We're served by a relay, so only have Muxes 1, 2 and HD in any case. Mind you that's plenty, when we first got Freeview our Group A aerial would only receive 1 and 2 even though we could access the main transmitter back then. Anyway I guess I'll be hanging out in the Customer...
Thanks everyone. The notes don't explicitly say that AR is enabled by default, but I suppose I should have worked that out when I couldn't find an option to switch it on or off. I just thought it was worth asking on the offchance, because my early experience says that it doesn't work and the...
Hi,
Sorry if this is a basic question, I haven't found the explicit answer in either the manual or on the forums. With the HDR-FOX-T2, is Accurate Recording enabled by default, if padding is set to 0 and 0? That's how mine's set, and the first few recordings have all missed the end, with a...
