it seems i'm guilty of not actually reading the hidden thread that you refer to, and similarly you havent read all of this thread perhaps, where you would see that i refer to the external HDD
we're not all as technically gifted, i had no idea that HD things would be encrypted, are these all...
i've rebooted and the scanmount.log now says

post 244, its no wonder i couldnt find it!! is there any way of stickying things like this either on the forum or the wiki??
i've just plugged all the cables into the same slots on the new unit, so assume all the relevant usb needs are met, and also that the = signs ARE crucial...
managed to get everything back as was onto the new unit, with one exception, i cant get the network share automount to work again
i've never found the set up instructions very easy to follow on here, (in fact even finding them is difficult!!) indeed, when i did it initially a kind member...
its ok thanks, i've set it all back up manually, didnt take long, and am now transferring her files back onto the new unit, hopefully she wont even notice, except the tell tale dust marks in the UV cupboard!! smoothly done
all sorted, just waiting for old unit to finish transferring, its down to its last 3-4gb of recordings, then i've gotta get dusty and swap them about!
very pleased, off ebay for £92, great deal!
thanks, its just arrived and has scanned quickly, i'll just check out the firmware and be careful not to update the wrong one, its second hand so cant imagine it'll be the very latest
oh i understand now thanks, thats a shame, i guess it would be possible if i knew what i was doing! so i'll have to start a new webif for the new unit then?
not the end of the world, cheers for clearing things up for me
no idea what that is, or how to do it, but the webif is on the pc with all the details held there, i'm no techno geek i'm afraid, but had assumed if the info is held on my pc then i could send it back down the line to the new unit?? obviously not? its not a massive task anyway i guess but nice...
i'm just waiting for the courier to arrive with a 1tb fox-t2
am currently transferring all recordings off the old unit onto external hdd, and am planning on donating it to my mum
my question is can i simply replace the new unit into my av cupboard, scan and then upgrade the cfw?
will i then...
i ordered this booster/splitter from ebay, mainly because of its sturdy metal casing. its just arrived and is a nice solid unit, the coax plugs all fit nice and snugly
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360732626120?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
hopefully this'll be the last you...
can they, i assume not on the coax side, but on the female side in the booster here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philex-27813HS-4-Way-Signal-Booster/dp/B0026IANHE/ref=pd_cp_ce_0
the last set of figures i posted were with the rooftop aerial
i have just plugged the indoor aerial into the booster/splitter and recorded these figures for the sheffield muxes
21 50 100
24 54 40
27 46 10
39 60 100
42 58 10
45 55 10
so some are significantly better than thru the rooftop...
todays sheffield muxes with a clear blue sky
21 29 100
24 10 10
25 27 90
39 22 10
42 0 0
45 30 10-40 fluctuating
so not a huge amount of difference considering the fair weather
is there a simple explanation why some muxes fare less well than others, whys 42 not picking up anything??
