Since my first post, even with v2.4 it still crashes
The recording is of one of the Six Nations games from last weekend
I have used niceplice to cut out the start, half time and the end, so that it just leaves the two halves of the game - it comes out at over 8GB in size
I wanted to...
EDIT just noticed Black Hole has got it working - I type too slowly - but perhaps the instructions below will help someone else trying to get theirs working
When accessing a Windows shared folder, a username and password MUST be set up or otherwise Windows will deny access - blank passwords...
I've had an issue with the current version of FreeMakeVideo (3.0.1) with HD files (SD are fine)
It crashes sometime after it reaches about 30 minutes in to a recording
If using a recording that is less than 30 minutes it sometimes works OK
There seems to be an issue round about the 30...
Would a mounted share configured to appear under 'media' behave like an attached USB drive?
Would it automatically decrypt recordings copied to it, or would it need to be decrypted first?
If it doesn't automatically decrypt, is it possible to write a script that could be configured to...
@Drutt
You're a marvel!!
I can live the options as they are now, as I can mount the share in 'media' which means no lockups
The WOL is working great, and wakes my NAS up from it's 'off' state when I turn on the HDR - this saves me having to go upstairs to turn it on manually
When the NAS...
I already have a second NAS which backups all the files on my main NAS, so if anything did happen, I can restore the files
I do have a third older single bay NAS, which I could use as Read only for the video folder
Mmm, got me thinking now
I hadn't realised that - I now have to ponder if it is possible to create a Read/Write mount somewhere hidden, but have a Read Only shortcut to it in 'media'
But as usual, my brain thinks of things I can't implement
Think that is one for the experts to answer
I can totally see your point, but as Seabee mentions (I don't like the concept of "special directories" in the "user space"), if a user has gone down the route of installing the Custom Firmware, they would know that they are gaining access to the not standard sections of the Hummy, and having...
Just as a recap from all the post and any suggestions that other users have stated
1. Mounting the shares under 'My Video' seems to cause the Hummy to become unstable, and possible become unresponsive in a lot of cases
2. It appears to work much better when the shares are mounted directly in...
I have removed the section as above from the scanmounts script, and it is now creating the share in media again, but it is still creating the '[Shares] Do not delete!' folder in My Video, so the HDR is still locking up
Which sections do I need to remove from the script so that the '[Shares] Do...
OK, I've done my manual testing by removing 'network-shares-automount', and manually creating the mount in 'media', and then 'My Video' by using telnet with the following commands
No.1. mount -t cifs //192.168.0.2/video /media/Synology -o username=humax,password=humax
and
No.2. mount...
I now have a new problem with the new version 1.2
If I access the share, it causes the HDR to lock up and become unresponsive
I first experienced this issue when I first tried to manually mount my NAS to the My Video folder as few weeks ago, and now the 'network-shares-automount' has been...
Home networks are fairly simple to set up
Each device (PC/Laptop etc) you want to connect to the network has to be given it's own IP Address and Subnet Mask, and if it needs to have access to the internet, then the Gateway and DNS Server will also need to be set
All these setting are in the...
Glad you got it working - there must be bug in the code for this to happen - perhaps Durtt could investigate it further when he has time
I think Durtt is looking at this at the moment, so you may get your wish
I would also like the *ModSettings folder moved to "media" or somewhere not...
Yes edit the domain to hold your workgroup name
You can either leave it with the * or delete it, both still work for me
If I use the workgroup settings only, it does not mount
I now have two mounts, one with Read only called Synology which has the workgroup deleted, and the other with...
@woodbar
Try putting your workgroup name in to the domain setting and ignore the workgroup settings - this worked for me
EDIT sorry, cross posted, wish there was a delete post button (just as long as it doesn't delete the files on my NAS of course)
