This is part of the reason why I have mine on delayed processing. Stuff like BBC News doesn't even get the bookmarks processing done before it is watched and deleted. Anything else gets delayed processing in the deep dark hours of the night or in the morning when nothing else is generally happening.
I'm having a strange problem with one of my Hummys displaying the selected programs in the RS visual display. The programs list fine on the RS Home page bit don't transfer to the Visual page.
At first I thought it was the Daylight Saving switch, but it showed todays (Sunday) programs in Visual...
I have had this happen when the Hummy has locked up and I have power cycled it just as the program that is supposed to record has missed its start time. Doing the manual record seems to make the Hummy check its db of what is supposed to be recording and finding an entry starts the recording...
I have two Hummies that are on 24/7, with a 10 minute power cycle at around 5am using the Hummys own power off/power on timers. This works pretty well for most of the time but there are some gotchas I have observed without having external power cycling available: -

I suspect it is more a case of the internal earth plane inside the PCB acting as a heat sink. My experience is that a 15w iron will struggle to heat that sufficiently to melt the solder even if the PCB is getting too hot to handle.
Another thing I have come across, this time attempting to...
They seem to have stopped this now, mine doesn't show the extra bulletins and the weekend 'early evening' news is now back on the same series ID as weekday 6pm news.
That many decimal places is also enough to calculate the circumference of the earth to less than a hands width (assuming you can find an average radius in the ovoid shape we live on).
Use USB interfaces and a Rasberry Pi? A USB hub would allow one to attach a very large number (as in more than 3-5) of drives and Linux would handle the striping/mirroring to make one large drive.
It seems to be an hour out for allof Sunday but corrects itself after that. It seems the epg on RS can't handle the time changing part way through the day.
Mine is the same.
There was a bunch of road signs around here recently which read "vegitation being cleared..."
I wanted to stop and get a photo of it but there was no-where convenient to stop the car.
I get periodically logged out and need to log back in. easy to do as i have the browser remember the password so I just have to click 'login' (or whatever the button actually says if it is not that). Happens about every three months I think.
