  Hi, The bitrate per pixel is higher in most SD transmissions but the codec (mpeg2) can not compress so efficiently, HD with higher compression levels can use smaller bitrate more efficiently. As long as the resolution is as high or higher that mine all should be well the final quality then...

  I've taken on board your comments and will as soon as I can try the latest combination and see if the problem returns, if so I'll try your suggested solutions. As an aside, I do not use the HD at present as I transcode the recordings for archive and use in other equipment so loose any advantage...

  I post the BBC3/4 SD problem here http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/no-more-package-updates-for-custom-firmware-2-xx-after-march-2015.5867/page-4#post-79241 but the post differed in to the BBC3/4 HD problem. The only solution I found at the time was to downgrade to Humax Firmware 1.03..06. Thanks...

  Hi, First oops bad typing, yes Custom Fireware. Anyway more to the point been running Firmware 1.03.06(a) with Custom Firemware 2.21 (1897) and now WebIf 1.0.13-2 for just over a week and all seems to be working as expected. Just upgraded WebIf to 1.0.13-4 and will look at Custom Firmware...

  I have had many other successfull records from BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Drama inparticular. As I type I am testing recordings from BBC's children channels as I believe they share the same frequency before I remove all firmware and start afresh. Update The BBC's childrens programmes recorded successfully.

  Hi, In the past week just over, the lastest today (19-04-2014), recordings from BBC3 and BBC4 SD have failed. One stated it was scrambled (BBC4), another said no AV (BBC3) and others just fail to play on the Humax iteslf. Also noted that the recording for Snog Mary, BBC3, 19-05-2014 at 19:00...
