The idea would be to still have the fan settable between 0% and 100% but change the temp thresholds so the possibility of 100% fan speed is lower although the box would run a little hotter. A lot of people state you can't hear it on 30% but I can even though it's slight.
In this case I think...
Yes I have the decryption package, works incredibly well in tandem with the one which chops out the commercial breaks. Amazing that the box can do this as it's recording the program and present you with a DRM and commercial free end file pretty consistently.
Ah now that's interesting that all...
Hi everyone,
I have a modified HDR Fox T2 with customer firmware 3.13, which I love. Works great as a little media server and also plays a decent amount of MP4/TS contained H.264 video with AC3/MP2/AAC audio, chops breaks out automatically and so on.
What I would like to know is, how does the...
Hi chaps,
Loving the custom firmware still, been using it a couple of weeks now and the new beta version of ntfs-3g is amazingly good for sharing on my LAN.
I like to use it occasionally as a torrent server but I find if I have slow downloads I would like others to start in their place. I can...
Got it. Installed and upgraded... works beautifully. It actually looks from the HDR Fox T2 like it was always meant to mount large NTFS drives by name because from the interface it's seamless! Quick edit of the /mod/etc/exports file and removal of my little script that runs from init.d at...
This was very useful, thank you. Mounting using a SXXexecutablescriptname in the /mod/etc/init.d folder was one way to get a USB drive mounted at boot time with a consistent path based on the mount point being the same, i.e. disc is sda. Might change if I have two NTFS drives connected and...
This is an old thread now but I'm still curious as to the ability to override the defaults and set fan speeds to what the user wants rather than allow some degree of user control and then remove it when temps are over certain thresholds. I'm guessing if this were possible we'd already be able...
Hmmm. Well after several hours of messing around learning ways to do this I'm kinda stuck. I now have a script I can telnet into the box and use to set the NTFS drive to make the mount point directory, unmount the drive and mount it to where I want while also disabling the power management to...
Thanks for the update xyz, nice to see people still developing for this surprisingly powerful box.
What I wouldn't mind doing is getting NTFS drives to mount by UUID to consistent mount points, for the purposes of adding things to library in Kodi etc. And if there are two drives mounted so...
I agree, the adding of Linux utils is amazingly well done. Even the telnet interface is friendly to use. Great software, utilising the potential of the impressive hardware. It was never meant to be a media server and yet it's so good at it with the Custom Firmware. This NTFS-3G beta is...
Right I have the beta of NTFS-3G installed and running. Finds the 4TB drive and mounts it as "gpt-drive1", tested shares over SMB only as I haven't configured NFS correctly yet and it does stream properly. Seems to solve the intermittant crashing issue I had with the previous version NTFS-3G...
I am going to install this today and test a little later. I have GPT NTFS 4TB drive hooked up to my HDR Fox T2 so ideal for test purposes, might even hook a powered hub up and see if it'll mount two drives later (I'm at work so all this is being tested remotely for now, thanks TeamViewer)
Been trying to get my head around this feature because I'd prefer to use NFS for network streaming rather than SMB for efficiency reasons. I make a folder in the [ModSettings] folder and fiddle with the options but I can never get the share to show properly when using Kodi, whereas via SMB I...
When I changed harddrives from stock 500GB to 2TB I could mount the old drive as a USB HDD with no issues to transfer recordings so I'd suspect drive or enclosure fault.
Would you be able to tell me how you did this please? I'm trying to get a 4TB single partition NTFS drive in external USB mounted for network sharing and as I'm no CLI expert I don't know which commands/syntaxes to use to do this manually.
Ah I see. Well I personally don't mind mounting large GPT formatted NTFS drives manually for now if ntfs-3g can handle it. Are we just using standard Linux command line syntax that I can easily find online or is there anything else going on? Because I tried a mount of the sdb1 partition where...
Ah, well that makes sense. GPT on a large internal hard drive is encouraging though, certainly worth bearing in mind. I've been impressed with some initial copying of large Blu-ray backups to a USB2 250GB 2.5" drive formatted to NTFS, connected to the HDR Fox T2 and then streaming the result...
Hello everyone,
Longtime user of Humax kit here. I had a Foxsat HDR years ago and had the custom firmware installed, and now after moving out of the place into one where there's no satellite but a nice stable aerial on the room have dipped into using the HDR Fox T2.
Internal harddrive is...
