      Just a thought, perhaps over-kill, but if I had problems with accented characters I would be tempted to FTP into the Hummy, edit the .ts filename (in this case changing the é to e) and delete the sidecar files - then go back into WebIf and get the sidecar package to recreate the sidecar files...

      jack616, I use the Paragon software too and have never had any problem with it. I only use it once in a while to read Ext3 disks. NTFS external HDDs will be the obvious choice for people who have installed the CF but I use Ext3 instead, mainly because I have a server running Ubuntu.

      I'm puzzled. The 4GB limit applies to FAT32 but if you are copying the file to your HDD (presumably formatted as NTFS) that limit would not apply.       Doesn't FAT32 have a maximum filesize of 4 GB? Without installing the CF, one option would be to format the USB stick as Ext3 using, say, Easeus Partition Master Free - copy the file to the USB stick then use a utility to mount the Ext3 USB stick in Windows, e.g. the free Paragon ExtFS for...

      Apologies if I have misunderstood the gist of your post but the WD AV-GP drives are not the same as WD Green drives. I'm not saying that the WD Green won't be OK in the Hummy, but it isn't optimised for PVRs whereas the WD AV-GP is.

      For information - I did test using sudo smartctl -l scterc,0,0 /dev/sda on a WD Red 3TB drive. It worked fine but the new setting setting didn't survive a power down/power up, so if someone really wanted to use this the command would have to be set to run every start up.

      I do agree with selectortone that it is best to wait for at least six months after a new OS is released before "upgrading" to it (if you want to do that).       My thoughts (for what they are worth) are - Never, ever upgrade (if that is really, really what you want to do) until a new OS has been released for an absolute minimum of 6 months. - Microsoft OSs seem to always alternate between good and not-so-good (e.g. XP, Vista, W7, W8) so hopefully W10...
