I am trying to use your java program to decrypt some files that I recorded before I installed the custom firmware that stops files being encrypted. I get an error message saying "File is not Humax ts". If I try it on a non-encrypted file I get a message saying it's not geting decrypted - has...
Mission accomplished!
I put the opk file into a USB stick, plugged it into the Humax and it automatically installed.
Yes I was mistaken in saying there is no 'base' directory. However the built-in package installer can download the Available packages list OK but still won't install any of them...
Here are my error messages:

I have:
Custom FW v4.1.3
Software version HPRSFCI 1.00.21
Loader Version U 7.52
Update Date 27 Jul 2012
Now you tell me the latest version - it's not in your newbies' guide.
On the custom firmware, I am trying to add a non-freesat channel to the freesat list, and to do this I presumably need the channel-editor package, which is listed under 'Available Packages'. When I click the button to install it, I get failure::
* opkg_download: Failed to download...
The converter came from Maplin. They no longer sell this exact type RXB-639B, but there is an old Amazon listing online. You haven't said why you are not surprised that my BIOS only recognises some drives.
The channels found (non-Freesat mode) were:
5001 6800
5002 BBC RB 2
5003 BBC RB 3
5004...
Perhaps I should have mentioned that my PC has IDE drives, and I use a SATA converter plugged into an IDE socket to read SATA drives. As the PC only knows about IDE, perhaps that's why it doesn't recognise the Foxsat HDD which is a different make to the Goodmans HDD. Also the PC is on XP - I saw...
The nearest to 11428H in KingOfSat is 11426V.
I already did a manual scan, but the Humax only seemed to check Freesat transponders, and there was no option to try others except creating one by supplying all the details. I don't have any friends with a dish. I already discovered the splendid...
Although 11428H is the first transponder in the Humax list, there is no reference to it in KingOfSat website. On every transponder in the list, signal strength shows zero, even though the sat-finder shows a peak at the dish position.
The history of the fault is that ITV HD started to show...
I do have Ext2Fsd so I can see the files via the communications link, I also have a Linux partition so I can see them in that, but the Linux doesn't recognise the drive if I put it in the PC, presumably because the BIOS can't. Maybe the BIOS is too old to recognise it.
Yes, and yes. Now I find that the HDD is not recognised in the PC's BIOS or Disk Management. I read in some forum that HDD's from DVR's may well be locked so that they cannot be read in a PC, which I can well believe. So I'll just have to wait a very long time before I can view the files.
This is a warning to others. My tuner seems to have failed, even though a signal finder attached in line shows a peak when the dish is aligned. I was viewing old recordings, and wondered if a factory reset might cure the problem. I got a message saying existing recordings would not be deleted...
Thanks. I already found Raydon's hmt format elsewhere, and was able to use DOS Debug to change the byte and copy the file back.
I wondered if all the associated files were necessary for Humax to play the tds file, so first I deleted the folder containing the tac files, and it still played. I...
So how do I use the custom firmware to reset the flag? I can see no reference to it in the web interface. Perhaps it's a Telnet command? Where is the flag stored - I can't see any likely file that has been modified on the date I copied the .ts file to a stick.
What do the various support files...
The stick in question is a 8GB 'Integral' brand.
Problem 1: I started to copy some 7-minute SD recordings from the Humax to the stick. A notice came up earlier than expected that there was no more room. I then put the stick into a PC, which showed that the files totalled only 2.5GB.
So I moved...
HOORAY! Everything now works, thanks to your instructions. Of course I didn't realise just what I was asking for!
I had a slight difficulty when I tried to install lighttpd - it said it had dependency on openssl package and would not install. So I added the "--force-depends" command. It started...
