DOH!!! - and there it is. I suspected something like that because I wasn't even seeing the drive but it was too late at night to start checking.
Thanks Martin!
The drive from the 9200T was a new one to replace the original that went pop. Up to now it has only been formatted in the 9200T and...
OK, I've done the Foxy bit to remove the 'enc' flag from my HD recordings and I've taken the disk out of my old 9200T and stuck it in a caddy and plugged it into the front USB socket on my HDR-FOX T2. However, I'm not seeing a 'copy to usb' option when I press OPT+ (even with recordings...
Strangely enough my bedtime reading last night was this PC Pro article about problems with homeplugs :- http://www.pcpro.co.uk/realworld/378583/a-simple-solution-for-homeplug-problems
The main part of the article will be irrelevant as it concerns multi-phase power supplies but if your problem...
Excellent - thanks for the clarification. Looks like I've got a busy week/end ahead.
Checking back through the threads I found this one http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/hdr-fox-t2-tuners-failed.2786/
which also reports a failed tuner purchased in October. Maybe I just got one of a bad batch...
Thanks for the pointers - it all looks fairly straightforward. Just need to rummage in my accumulated pc-bits box for a suitable HDD to re-format.
One question I'm still unsure about - when I've done all this and have the files on the external usb drive, will I be able to copy them onto the...
Well, I'm a bit closer to a resolution now. Re-installing 1.02.29 then reverting to 1.02.27 made no
difference whatsoever. Still got a random mix of successful and failed recordings but with a single
pattern - the failed ones always required the box to come out of standby.
Now for a slightly...
Thanks BH, that's worth knowing.
Having spent almost 30 years in IT development & support I have a healthy scepticism for systems that break just after an 'upgrade'.
You said in a previous thread of mine that 1.02.29 was working OK for you. Can I ask what version you upgraded from?
I'm...
Hi Ezra
If you could put 1.02.27 on a download site that would be fantastic, thanks!
Obviously I'd rather get 1.02.29 working but if I have to go back to 27 to get some reliability then YouTube is no great loss.
An update.
I left the T2 fully on throughout 31 Dec and 1/2 Jan with a substantial schedule of recordings across all the muxes - no failed recordings.
On the night of the 2nd I scheduled 6 random recordings thru the night and put the T2 into standby - no failed recordings.
On the night of the...
So, I did the factory reset late last night then set a bundle of 7 random recordings overnight. Results as follows :-
'Unable to track' - 3 (muxes 40, 41 & 43)
Successful - 4 (muxes 41, 44, 46 & 47)
Looks like the failures are as spread as before.
Yesterday, when I was out, I had scheduled 4...
The muxes are the expected ones for Blackhill (ie.40, 41, 43, 44, 46 & 47). We have clear line-of-sight to the transmitter which is around 15-20km away as the crow flies . The next nearest is Darvel in Ayrshire which is more like 60km away - we've never ever picked up anything from there...
I've experienced several failed recordings over the last 7 days (0 mins length and 'unable to track' error message). I'm wondering if others have experienced the same or if the issue is local to my HDR-Fox T2.
Failed programmes have included :-
Xmas TOTP - 2pm on 25 Dec (BBC1 HD)...
Thanks for the offer Ezra - I'll bear it in mind as a fallback.
BH's experience with 1.02.29 on the HD-FOX is reassuring so I'll go forward rather than back and see how it goes.
The new TV portal looks interesting and I've already registered on myhmax.net - only to be met with the 'app market...
Wow, that was quick - and nicely reassuring!
I, too, am struggling to understand why they would re-broadcast something which is known to break an existing service.
I'm not overly-fussed about the re-tuning niggle as I know to watch out for it so I'll find a quiet spell over the next few days...
Thanks for the reply BH - perhaps I should have emphasised the IF in that statement.
I had already had a thorough read of your entire 'Things Every...' section and had noted that while, on my current version, (1.02.27) YouTube does not work but Internet radio does, the upgrade to 1.02.28 appears...
Hello from a former (lapsed) member - that 9200T really was far too reliable ;)
I recently upgraded to the HDR-FOX T2 and have found this forum invaluable in sorting out all manner of teething problems - so warm thanks to all the regular contributors.
Now to the question! With the rather...
