I recently replaced the hard drive on my Foxsat with a WD AV-GP 1TB and had to put a jumper across pins 5 and 6 to slow the data transfer rate (as advised in the AVforum). When it comes to replacing the hard drive in the Fox T2, I haven’t seen any similar advice. Does that mean there is...- martinr

I just tried it and found that when trying to play via the DLNA server I got a popup: "play failed. Unable to play video now" (Is that what you saw?) But it plays via Samba. Martin EDIT: Try going into Settings and change Video encoding fom HW to SW- martinr

Good you sorted it out. I've found the VLC app (2.4.1) annoyingly temperamental on my iPhone 5S when trying to play from my Fox T2 and Foxsat (with the custom firmware). If you run into any snags, try MoliPlayer; I was sceptical, having tried plenty of other players, but this one really...- martinr

And - setting aside electricity costs - I assume nothing at all to be gained by keeping it in Standby until needed? Taking things to extremes, I guess, even if there was some benefit. (1 watt in standby? 1 kW-hr in around 40 days.) Martin- martinr
