Almost works for me. I can see all the files on Windows Media Server, but when I play I get only the sound but no video (just a small static thumbnail picture). But on VLC it works just fine.
Forget putty, but you do need to start a shell to run these commands. I've forgotten now how to start that up (I had to eventually replace the T2 with a 5000, so no more fun playing that way), but I am sure almost anyone on this forum can help you with that.
I wish now I had explained what I wanted to to do and asked for Forum advice before starting. Would have save me not hours but days of time.
The 5000t looks very good from the normal end-user point of view (eg has 3 tuners & remote scheduling), but the CF puts the HDR into a different league...
I tried using webif, but maybe not the right way. I can see [ÙSB Storage] and can supposedly copy to there, but that doesnt seem to be the FAT part of the usb, i.e. not visible to Windows thereafter.
Aha - using Download to the PC
We only have one tv in the house which is in constant use by you know who. There appear to be some operations, like copy to usb, which can only be done using the remote. Is there any way to see what would be showing on the TV?
Its now appeared, after a couple of re-boots.
Some log entries have dates of 1971.
Will do fixdisk once massive file copy completes.
What i am doing is copying all the T2 recordings to the FVP-5000. Its a bit cumbersome, as have to go via a 128gb pen drive, so I first compressed everything -...
Yes, it was the troublesome unit.
All the log files give a read error.
Tried to edit them, just a blank window. Other files I can see eg mod/etc/anacrontab
I have used Unix in the distant past (with Putty if I recall), but never with the Humax. How do I start a shell?
Just tried Command line again, and its working now. no longer err 503. Will pursue the commands suggested
That's what I did.
So to check the cable, tried connecting it direct into the laptop & with DHCP could (just, v faint) see its new ip address & that was connectable OK.
Tried again with the cable into the router and after some re-booting it now works.
It had reported network connected, but...
I can connect via a wifi dongle, but cant get an ethernet cable to work. Tried DHCP & Manual. Any suggestions? (Why bother? I have 2 T2s but only one wifi dongle)
Sweeper rule:
# Queue for DetectAds (add/remove/modify conditions as needed)
recurse 1 bookmarks {> 0} !textmatch %channel~~BBC* !queue detectads flag Addetection action {queue detectads}
NB Probably not hundreds of files, maybe 100. Most are BBC.
As a test, I have set a sweeper rule to queue for detectads on a small folder, which have all been already detectadded. But it will take ages to verify, as its currently trying to shrink, decrypt & mpg everything!
Original options were beginning and end. I have manually cropped a few, but there are a couple of hundred. Nb (Maybe should be a separate thread) I managed to crop one or 2 files manually several times, making them progressively smaller, before I noticed. Could be the bookmarks werent properly...
When I said OK, I meant it did boot up, not cycle.
In the bad box it didnt matter which disk or psu was used, it wouldnt boot if the disk was attached, but was (usually) OK if the disk was attached after boot. In the good box it didnt matter what selection/combination, it boots. So surely must...
