Hi All, Just been trying to refer to a text file to download a series of urls. Simple text file, each new line is a URL. I have managed to get it to work but only using the Download now option with nothing in the URL and this syntax: -a /media/My\ Video/temp/DH-test.txt (the \ is to escape...- rodp

quick question, when you run the fixdisk process from the webif telnet menu, you can close the window and return to it / reopen the existing session. When going back in, it asks if you want to quit the current fixdisk process or return back to the existing process (sorry not exact words but...- rodp

[tempmon] Monitor temperature and take action if too high.
Have settled on 50% (no real reason just that it's quiet), hdd about 42-47 deg C. It seems however the speed of the fan does not change gradually, it jumps from one speed to another eg 74% then 75%, there is a big increase of speed. Might measure it a bit more scientifically if I get the...- rodp

Got sysmon installed too but that only charts the temperature so thought I'd give tempmon ago to see what it was like. Re the chart below, I made the change to the fan speed at about 10pm to 50% fan speed so it looks like it took an hour to actually make a significant difference. I might have...- rodp

Just installed this for the first time as installed a new HDD as recommended in a thread, seagate skyhawk 2TB. I think it might run slightly hotter than the old pipeline model but when it got to 55, I spotted the SMART data table said the HDD temp was high and it was failing(!). I installed...- rodp

Thanks for the replies and advice. The moving of the files from a folder outside 'My Video' and then back in seems to have allowed it to shut down properly now, however I'll probably never know what it was that was causing it in the first place as the humaxtv.log file didn't really give any...- rodp

Update: WinSCP does work now - I must have been using the Media path rather than the mnt/hd2 path. So all is good! :)- rodp

Thanks - working from mnt/hd2 path sorted it out so I navigated to mnt/hd2 using the cd command and made a folder called My Video2 and then did: mv "My Video/2a Films (PG 12)/" "My Video2/2a Films (PG 12)/" Which then moved the whole folder Wish this could be done in Webif or via WinSCP -...- rodp

I'm trying to resolve a delinquent half-awake mode at the moment but struggling with the process of moving files out of the 'media/My Video' folder to say 'media/My Video2' (assuming this is an acceptable folder that the Humax system won't look in). In the log files, it seems to have removed this info - it's only by chance I took a copy of the terminal window that I saw this info. Is this a bug?- rodp

update... I think I figured it out.... I did fixdisk with the options -l -y and let is go - for 2 days! Attached is the logs. It seems the long run picked up a lot more bad stuff than the normal one. My SMART log in terms of re-allocated sectors has jumped up dramatically. So I'm glad I...- rodp

Oh so Dumpe2fs is not a swap file, it's just a program. It's been on the same file for 12 hours now - is this debugfs essential? Will this information it's churning out (searching for inodes etc be used further in the process).- rodp

backup / image backup might need to be done out of the box but are you suggesting to do the rest whilst the HDD is in the Humax? no. 4...... They make good paper weights!! How do you execute a long SMART test? is that a normal fixdisk? All these options will remove the current setup of the...- rodp
