Hi,
How do you connect the fan up internally, do you replace the existing fan, meaning that there is no air extraction at the back?
The last picture looks like you've made a hole in the top of the case, is that so, or is it a reflection of something above?
EDIT: After fully reading your...
Hi,
I have been experiencing my Humax hDR-Fox T2 crashing quite regularly once a month.
I have the custom software installed, and also have the fan assist package installed.
I managed to catch it crashing yesterday, the picture froze whilst watching a recorded program, the box rebooted and...
Hi af123,
I've just installed the test kernel on top of 3.02. If I run the dmesg tool should this give a similar output as shown in previous posts? Mine doesn't show any output!
What would I need to do to try this?
Is it just a matter of sticking the contents on a USB drive and boot to update on top of exiting CF 3.00, or do I need to remove the current build first?
Is it the same process to revert back to the current version, or again would the test kernel need...
On the hard disk labe my says "Product of China", I don't know if serial numbers point to their origin?
There are many different Western Digital hard drives (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/catalog/default.aspx?segment=1). I don't know which would be best, but I would think the WD AV drives would...
For those who installed the 2TB Pipeline Seagate, do you know where your disk was manufactured. I read a number of Amazon comments for Seagate drives suggesting that people seem to get more duff or failing drive that are sourced from China as opposed to Thailand. I checked and mine was made in...
Hi af123,
What changes have you been making to the kernel?
Do you think it's worth me trying it?
As stated previously, I've been running ok for a few months without problems, until now.
Do you think it points more towards a failing hard disk (presumably something to do with the SATA...
My disk has been fine for over two months, but now exhibiting these symptoms. Is there a way I can confirm a faulty disk, and who's to say a new one won't go the same way? Is there a recommended alternate to the segate 2TB disk that has been tried and tested for a long period?
It happened again this morning, coming out of standby the first time I switched on. So, I guess it's not overheating, since it was cold! I telneted in and restarted to maintenance mode and did a short disk check, which completed, so this disk must have come back online. Exiting and rebooting...
Hi,
Over the last few days I am having similar problems, where the disk drive is not being recognised when powering up. If I go to menu->settings->systems, data storage is greyed out. The only way to recover seems to be power off the box for half an hour, and switch it back on. I am using CF...
Thanks, that must have been it. I must be getting paranoid since fitting the new hard disk.
I thought the custom firmware might have been doing something. Nothing to worry about. :)
I had another funny thing yesterday, I'm not sure what I touched on the front of the box, but for a few seconds a blank screen with a message was shown, I can't remember exactly what it said, but the LCD screen on the front had 'TEST' scrolling across the front. After a few seconds the picture...
I ftp'd all 4 files for each programme, and copied all 4 back again.
I was having trouble playing back new recordings as well, so I turn it off and back on again, and all new and old recordings now play back again. Few! :)
Hi,
See attached image for the 4kalign output.
The next problem I have is that I ftp'd the programmes back onto the new hard disk, that I copied off before the disk failed, but I cannot play them, it comes up with a message saying "This channel is scrambled or not available".
Are they lost...
Hi,
See attached file for the warnings out of gfdisk when writing the partition table.
I then deleted all the partitions and let the Humax format the empty disk.
The second attachment shows the partition table it decided to use.
How does this look? I was surprised that partition 1 started...
Inside of gfdisk, I just used 'n' command to create new partitions, then when I finished, the 'w' command to write the partition table and exit. It was at that point that the warnings appeared, prompting to ignore or cancel. I can probably get a screenshot of the actual warnings later, and I'll...
Do you know what the warnings were all about when writing the partition table using gfdisk, listing a whole set of sectors it could not access, is that something I need to worry about?
I did try using the exact sector numbers as specified by the wiki page to start with, when it came to the 3rd partition it complained that it could not allocate as specified, and set alternate sector number (as is shown), which put it on a cylinder boundary, also divisible by 8, so that seemed...
Hi,
I was planning on replacing the harddisk on tomorrow, but yesterday the harddisk died altogether. Although it powered up (I could hear it), it did not mount, and any commands trying to access it (such as fix-disk) said "Device not found". On the Humax system menu the "Storage" option was...
Out of interest, is there a way to run fix-disk to automatically answer Y to any queries to fix/rewrite LBA errors?
The lockups were after emptying the disk so there was very little on there.
