The FVP-5000T and the Aura both have three tuners. With the Aura you can simultaneously record four channels and (subject to some restrictions) watch a fifth live.
There have been recent new releases of the Aura app for both Android and MacOS and I think most people are reasonably satisfied it...

I suspect your obsolete product suggestion is the most likely answer.
It is protected by the HDCP protocol; does the Samsung support the same or higher version of HDCP as the FVP?

I am not sure what you mean by "it has left C5 with no series recording"; could you clarify please? in the meantime, try putting the box in standby, wait for the hard drive to stop spinning and then turn the power to the box off, wait 10 seconds and the restore the power and when the box is up...
But Apple are known to have a reasonably record at providing longer term support for their phones as opposed to a lot of suppliers of Android phones who stop operating system updates after a few years.
Very few people I would expect but if you are going to support older smart phones wouldn't you be relying on users to download an app? As I understand it, the emergency alert system is baked into more recent Android and Apple phones so as time goes on eventually the vast majority of smartphone...
OK you could try a different HDMI cable or a different HDMI port on the TV but I wouldn't have high hopes. I would expect a SCART connection to work properly.
I wouldn't say it is common with the HDR-1800T but reported from time to time with the earlier HDR-FOX T2. Has this problem just started out of the blue or did it coincide with a change of TV (or anything else)?
You could play them from the USB device by plugging into the Aura and installing the VLC app.
I think you only need the .ts file for the Aura. Which directory did you copy them to?
