Hi,
My recorder died. One day no response no noise no lights on it.
The power supply is working and I've connected the drive into my Linux nas and I can read the files on the drive. Looks like a main board problem to me.
I purchased a second hand box from ePray which works fine.
Forgot to...
Looks like the upgrade has worked fine, now on 29 for both factory and custom. Shouldn't get a forced upgrade right before Christmas now. Excellent!
Cheers guys
Bob.
Guys, I really am most grateful for all your time and advise and I apologise for being so thick.
To clarify, if I may. Are we saying that the same custom software for 29 can be places on factory software 28 and it will upgrade the factory and the custom?
What I don't get is if CFW...
Thanks for your helpful and prompt reply, really appreciated. Trouble is I think I must be getting old and suddenly this all seem s much harder than last time I upgraded. Senior moment.
Could you tell me where this "diagnostic" can be found and do I have to install it (from where) and then how...
Earlier this year I added the custom software to 1.02.28 and its been fine. Noticing that 1.02.29 is about to be sent out I thought I would do it now rather than have something go wrong just before christmas. Trouble is, the instructions seem to conflict to me...
On the firmware downloads page...
Thanks for that. I take it that installing the custom software and setting up a vitual USB drive qalifies as sufficient to play back "locally"?
I've only had the unit since February so I'm a little reluctant to even upgrade to software version 27 (I'm still on 20) and even more nervous of...
I've been playing with video files on my NAS box and watching them on the hummy. I found that .mp4 .mpg .rm .wmv all play but don't have any function other than play and stop.
Any tips on conversion to a format that performs better?
Better still any freeware software to do it?
While you're...
Sorry to jump in but this is interesting.
OK. May I ask a couple of things to clarify here?
Are you saying there are 3 things to consider about a file being playable. 1) The file extension. 2) the container within the file. 3) The data stream within the container? Do we have any compatibility...
Thanks Graham, its good to know that these things can be turned off these days. If and when I change the lounge TV I'll check for that on/off switch. As you say, with scarts you can disconnect (think I remember it was) pin 8 but it does stop something else working as two signals are on that...
The problem with automation is that it can't get it right all of the time. Do any of you guys watch your PVRs from another room?
Our old scart connected tv used to autoswitch and it drove me nuts. I'm watching a freeview program in the lounge, wife switches on the PVR from the bedroom and my tv...
Thanks guys for all the info. I've been looking at the cost of low power over a year. Normally, most electric power is very expensive for the first so many units but then much cheaper. The cheap rates seem to be around 12p per unit or 1KWh. There are 8784 hours in a leap year Now 1 watt for that...
As I understand it there are two levels of standby, one shuts down a few more things to save power. Does anyone know just how much power? The reason I ask is that I would like to put the Humax in the aerial feed rather than on a spur as it is now but to do so I have to start the loop through...
I'm obviously missing something here. All I've come across is the 4 arrow keys, The first two go back/forward at up to 32x and the other pair which move forward by 2 minutes at a time. I don't know of any other skip or move function. So I hold down the play (triangle key) and the left/right part...
It's just what I'm used to Brian. On the Sky box, if you record the series of Coronation Street it will pop the lot in the same folder or stack as they call it, as every episode has the same name. But when you record a series of F1 it creates a new stack for each grand prix and puts...
Hi Guys,
Is there a way to jump into the middle of a recorded programme without having to wind throught it at 32x speed?
I set up a series recording for the Australian Grand Prix which recorded fine. As expected it also recorded the Malaysian Grand Prix which is great, trouble is, it didn't...
