Looks like the upgrade has worked fine, now on 29 for both factory and custom. Shouldn't get a forced upgrade right before Christmas now. Excellent! Cheers guys Bob.- mightyoakbob

Earlier this year I added the custom software to 1.02.28 and its been fine. Noticing that 1.02.29 is about to be sent out I thought I would do it now rather than have something go wrong just before christmas. Trouble is, the instructions seem to conflict to me... I've been playing with video files on my NAS box and watching them on the hummy. I found that .mp4 .mpg .rm .wmv all play but don't have any function other than play and stop. Thanks Graham, its good to know that these things can be turned off these days. If and when I change the lounge TV I'll check for that on/off switch. How much power saved with power saving mode?
Thanks guys for all the info. I've been looking at the cost of low power over a year. Normally, most electric power is very expensive for the first so many units but then much cheaper. The cheap rates seem to be around 12p per unit or 1KWh. There are 8784 hours in a leap year Now 1 watt for that...- mightyoakbob

As I understand it there are two levels of standby, one shuts down a few more things to save power. Does anyone know just how much power? I'm obviously missing something here. All I've come across is the 4 arrow keys, The first two go back/forward at up to 32x and the other pair which move forward by 2 minutes at a time. It's just what I'm used to Brian. On the Sky box, if you record the series of Coronation Street it will pop the lot in the same folder or stack as they call it, as every episode has the same name.
