Yes hello chaps sorry for not being around sooner I was busy all weekend melding my insides with a particularly generous Stella Artois offer from Tesco
This is just the sort of stuff I like (although I wont pretend I understand all of it) but I am in favour of the Wally. I will...
Aaarrgghh not been checking the posts over the weekend and now it looks like Black Hole is going to load up and be running an update before I am!!! :frantic:
It's not like I always have to be first or anything like but I was always ahead of BH!!!! Now I feel very disappointed in myself :( ;)
Favourite features have to be the RS Service and the ability to get recordings off the box to use on any other device.
Alongside all the amazing scheduling stuff it does, the RS service has the additional bonus of being able to tell Murdoch's Gimps that the money they are shelling out each and...
Word for the day - "melding" - not used often enough. :) Makes me think of pointy ears!! I will be melding a curry and some beers later on this evening!!!
Cool - I've been putting loads of stuff onto my NAS while mounted as a USB drive for a while now and suddenly got a panic that it was all still encrypted and hence useless if I ever got another Hummy (or other such device).
Hmm so just to double check if I use the auto-mount method to get access to my NAS and use the Hummy to copy files onto it, they will get decrypted as per any other USB copy (subject to flags being removed) SD & HD - right?
[EDIT - sorry I realise I'm going a bit off topic]
It would be unless there was already a way to use your networked drive like a USB drive and bypass the bug, get straight folder navigation instead of that horrible DLNA Video>All Video>Folders... yuk, get file copy functions onto the NAS drive using the Hummy menus, wider file format support and...
According to the site it's only when you change mode although I'm not sure what problem that is solving given that you'd already know what button you'd pressed by virtue of having just pressed it AND they light up red (albeit while hidden under the finger that just pressed it!!!).
Aaaaanyway -...
Hang on that can't be right can it? (and admittedly Fmrl does say it's a guess) - "Fortunately it works on a7.30" - surely they can't release something that was dependent on a higher Loader version and leave us old "point-three-oh's" crossing our fingers! Otherwise me (and I presume* many...
It says the loader version is a7.31 / a7.32 - does that mean this update will also update the loader version? If not what will only having v7.30 mean? Actually does it even matter at all what the loader version is anyway!!
[EDIT - just read the posts in the customised section - no...
It is in the Wiki but listed under the package name of "network shares automount" - it was in the first topic as noted by BH above http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Package_Notes#Network_Shares_Automount
I had a look at Lightworks NLE a little while ago (before the arrival of on box editing) Here (Click) and at the time it didn't seem to want to load up HD files but as with all open source stuff it will have moved on so please report back if you do try it. The other thing was even when I...
Hmm yes it does that for me too - I load up the EPG and choose Friday 13th from the calendar and it displays Thursday 12th (and Thursdays programs just in case it was only the date display that was out).
Further to Black Holes info above, and having tried using the DLNA method and discovered it's many shortcomings (4gb limit bug as mentioned, tiresome navigation through the indexed folder structure and not directly through the folder tree on the disk, limited file format support, no way to move...
