The odd thing is that it only happened for one series. Problem is that it's one the mem'sahib likes to watch, so caused neck pain. Disk as a whole records fine. Deleted the folder, deleted the schedule, started again- no change. Weird.
Quite like the 4000. Despite the, erm, "challenged"...
The programme showed as recording, the disk was making disky noises, but checking later it was nowhere.
We've had a few funnies with this machine: we had the opposite of the continuous delete problem, for one thing: we noticed the disk space was getting tight and found an instance of a...
My HDR-Fox-T2 has started recording programmes and then hiding them. The programmes show as recording, but when they finish, there's no new item in the folder.
Has anyone come across this issue?
It's not the first problem we've had with this box, so we've replaced it with a 4000T; however...
I have a Fox-T2 that's (a) out of warranty and (b) a pain in the backside because the remote works badly on occasions. I look forward to doing this install and using the iPad to control the damn thing. :)
Good:
Three tuners
On-demand
WiFi built in, at last!
YouTube, iPlayer etc
Small and quiet
Remote actually works all the time (so far).
Not so good:
The interface is a bit too big and cartoony
Lost the skip forward and back buttons
Lost the ability to put things in folders (I have a "Films"...
No- so far I've resisted the custom firmware because it's been in warranty. Now it's out, it may be the way to go.
I didn't fret as I wasn't expecting another retune, as it only did one a short while ago.
But once the damn thing has let you down, it might be nice to be able to use YouView...
Well, you say that. I've just come home from a week away to find that our box has retuned itself, wiped all schedules, and fixated (as before) on BBC1 West Bloody Midlands. So, nothing has recorded in the last week.
I'm beginning to think that dumping this box and getting one of the...
No - mine predated the re-tune, by some weeks. I've tried various things including a new remote and one or two "universal" solutions.
At the moment, the best remote for my Humax is my Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Now 0344 318 8800 - national rate for most callers.
Humax support say it's £22 plus a couple of quid for shipping. How big a job is it to change a panel?
I'm not clear on this: will a factory reset delete my recordings, or just set the box back to defaults?
Ah?
How big a problem is that? Is it a simple/cheap fix?
I'll try this, but I don't think it's the issue. I don't have another Humax product in the room, so it's not a frequency clash.
And, interestingly, the problem goes away for a while after a hard restart (which is needed periodically, when the box becomes completely unresponsive to the remote.
Our T2 started selectively ignoring the remote. It comes and goes..
When it does work, it often shows the symptoms of poor debouncing; the command seem to be interpreted twice (e.g. you select "upper folder" and press OK, and it leaves the folder and immediately comes back in).
Did all the...
I bought the Edimax, from Amazon, and it's been fine. I wouldn't buy a no-name one to save £3.
NB - because it has Humax in the title doesn't mean it's Humax-branded- it just means the seller knows that's a word people might search for.
Latest thing - I was just about to box up the machine and send it back, when it just stopped happening.
Interestingly, it stopped happening without any obvious changes - though perhaps there was a firmware update overnight.
My thoughts re the power-cycle are that doing a "hard" reboot forces...
Well, my instinct pointed the same way. I just cannot for the life of me think what it could possibly be. The key fact, for me, is that if you power-cycle the box, it's sorted instantly.
If you don't power-cycle the box, it remains unusable (forever, as far as we can tell). If it were some...
