Updated to a HDR-FOX T2 from a 9300..
It's left on all the time so that we can record stuff that's on when we're out! It's not a "stand-by" we're needing- it's a complete power-off and reboot (power-cycle). If we don't do it this way, we have to do it by switching off and on using the switch on the back. Just switching to standby...- Ineluki

Well. I've spent an hour today on the phone to Humax tech support- he said I've done all the checks he'd have asked me to do, and I should send it back. NB - this is a second box, with the same problem, Amazon replaced the first one without a murmur and now this one has gone the same way. I...- Ineluki

Network Problem, Probably HomePlug
I'd go for the Solwise ones for preference- all HomePlugs use the same chipsets (vary depending on speed) licensed from a US company, so really it's price/interface/build quality that's the key. There's little you can configure on HomePlug - it's a *transparent* ethernet bridge, so doesn't have...- Ineluki

You Tube / Netflix / Lovefilm
We get Netflix via our Panasonic Blu-ray player, so it doesn't require massive amounts of processing power- it's just a web-browser, when all's said and done.- Ineluki

Latest Software update (January 2013)
Has anyone installed the new software yet? Is the EPG any better? I've been looking at the reviews on Amazon and they're very polarised; most either 5* or 1*! I've read that the search uses "SMS" style entry rather than the on-screen keyboard of the FOX-T2, which sounds like a retrograde step-...- Ineluki

I've now manually re-tuned, to just the bands I should have. Seems OK at the moment.... Antenna power is off. Another couple of things I've noticed: 1) the TV Portal has stopped working I noticed someone else talking about the portal stopping working after a standby, and at first I put it...- Ineluki

I've not done it yet- I need to find a time when the distaff side are not using the telly, and when I've got nothing more important to do. Which looks like being in the small hours. :) Perhaps I'll get onto it tonight. I'm still more than half convinced it's a dodgy box though- all I need to...- Ineluki

Is there an easy way to tell for sure? According to the DigitalUK site, Moel y parc is a different transmitter entirely. My aerial is pointed to Winter Hill (bearing of 7), as far as I can see, and Moel y parc is on a bearing of 282 from here, or 258 for the Wrexham transmitter. Am I...- Ineluki

Our aerial is pointing more-or-less North, which is consistent with the 7 degree bearing listed for Winter Hill. Despite which, the box seems to default to Sutton Coldfield, which is on a bearing of 138 degrees! The previous box had the same behaviour- does it just glom onto the first one with a...- Ineluki

Checked last night- the channels are still where I left 'em. What happens is that the signal strength seems OK, but the quality cycles varies randomly between 50 and 100%, with a mean period of about 10-12 seconds. Power-cycling the box makes the symptoms go away for another day or so. Seems...- Ineluki

Sorry- HDR-Fox. 2 weeks old. Channels are fine for a while, then start to skip/pixellate. Power-cycle the box and they're all OK again, for a day or so... typically seems to kick in about 8 or 9 in the evening. So- if quality is < 100%, it needs a retune? Or perhaps the aerial needs...- Ineluki

Remote Control Setup With TV
Has anyone managed to get the Audio setting working with a Linn amp? I asked Humax and they were completely chocolate teapot. Other "universal" remotes have worked OK with the Linn, so it's not using anything particularly obscure, but no code listed.- Ineluki
