      New box arrived, and I'm happy to report that all HD channels are working! Must be some undefined problem with the other box, it has continued to deteriorate so I'm glad the new box solved the problem. Thanks for everyone's patience and support.

      I've bitten the bullet and bought a new Hummy on ebay. This will a least ascertain if it's a problem with the box or aerial. I'll report back when it's arrived.

      I though the direction was closer to the St John Ambulance building than the Red Cross? 271 is one degree off West, so that seems right. Pretty sure its pointing directly at Ridge Hill, as are most of the others around here.

      I do! It faces south west, I get a lot of sun on my balcony. So when compass said SW I didn't really question it. I am dyspraxic though, so forgive me for getting a little muddled with the direction.

      Just did this again on BBC News HD (107) Ch55 746000Khz 8MHz 32K 1/16 (DBD-T2) Strength: About 50-55% (occasional dropping to 0%) Quality: Fluctuating widely, but most of the time 5-10% Similar results on BBC4 HD (106)

      I did this earlier in this thread (post 99) and got these results: on BBC News HD: Ch55 746000Khz 8MHz 32K 1/16 (DBD-T2) Strength: About 50% Quality: 5% - 40% I can do it again this evening when I'm home.

      Actually, just checked now, roughly south west, but tried other directions in a 180 degree arch as well and there was no improvement. I can't point it in northwards as its on the side of the building, not the roof, but no other aerials are pointing that way. Is it worth trying another type of...

      I meant that I moved it a cm at a time. I moved it by about 180 degrees in total.
