But still valid.
Are we in a simulation? That would not be a "we", that would be a "me" and everything I experience is simulated for my benefit. I'll accept that technologically it may be possible at some future time, but fundamentally: why, and why me?
It is a far simpler explanation that...
I've had a thought which has rocked my faith in atheism.
We are well aware that creationists point at something complex like the eye, and declare that as proof of design. An evolutionists say that the eye evolved from just a light sensitive cell and subsequent random mutations by survival of...
It's encrypted whether HiDef or StDef, but it doesn't matter what the key is so long as the same key is used for decryption as encryption! The "scrambled" message is what you get trying to play a recording with the wrong key.
Yet another example of GenZ (or whatever) not caring about the distinction.
I was in Wetherspoons for a pit-stop last week, and the young girl clearing tables commented that I was doing a crossword, saying she can never manage them. She said she couldn't think of the right word at the right...
1.02.20 is the earliest version compatible with the current HiDef audio format, but it won't play media beyond a 4GB limit. However, there could be reasons to continue using it if you value Audio Description (which I understand subsequent releases cocked up).
Interesting. You were running reasonably up-to-date CF despite it being on top of older Humax firmware.
@prpr: do you think 3.13 vs 3.14 was the problem, or 1.02.20 vs 1.03.12?
Since the 20/11/024 forum software update/upgrade (which, IIRC, renamed "conversations" to "direct messaging", even though "personal messaging" is the de-facto standard), there has been an unresolved bug. This was drawn to the attention of the Almighty by DM and in the forum upgrade thread, but...
This has been discussed. Despite the "oops" message, if you refresh the browser it shows the post has actually been added to the conversation. If worried it might not be, do a select-all, copy before performing the refresh (so you can then paste the content back in if it's lost).
This fault...
Be aware the box can occasionally (very occasionally) forget its key. Reboot sorts it. Anything you try to decrypt (including play) that was recorded before it forgot can't be accessed. Anything recorded while it forgot can't be accessed after you restore it.
What's wrong with "evacuate"? It hardly matters where they are evacuating from.
Disembarkation should refer to substantial (international) journeys, ie ship or plane, and perhaps Eurostar* would qualify.
* Presuming Eurostar is running.
Most things you would alight from are in a transport situation, although I have been known to alight on an answer.
I can't get on board with any of those (;)), they're American jargon for when they are trying to sound cleverer than they look. I mean, "momentarily" when they actually mean...
Are you not familiar with "alight" used in that context then? Or just commenting on its deprecation in modern usage (as part of the general dumbing down)?
I was about to suggest that.
Probably, using Notepad! @TW8: download Notepad++ and set "Unix line endings" in preferences (or whatever the setting is – you need it to output LF only). Alternatively, create your scripts directly on the Foxsat with a command-line editor (vi, nano).
Or you...
