Yesterdays Crypto Scammer

I would have thought "Report" on the offending post was the way to bring it to any moderators attention.
There is also a Report button on the user profile page if they haven't posted yet

We do have some actual foreign users of the Humax and Remote Scheduling. "Unelma-asunto auringon alta" (Fiinnish translation of A Place in the Sun) is apparently #14 in the most recorded show list (Problems with the list have been discussed elsewhere)

@ EEPhil there was no post to report.

@MymsMan I did not know about the report on the profile so thanks. It was not just the location but also the names they use seem to follow a similar format. Brian has confirmed that they were already banned and although their status was "viewing members profiles" he said " I don’t think they can actually see anything, they just get random error messages"

For some reason PM's will not work for me
This has been discussed. Despite the "oops" message, if you refresh the browser it shows the post has actually been added to the conversation. If worried it might not be, do a select-all, copy before performing the refresh (so you can then paste the content back in if it's lost).

This fault is only discussed in a thread about the forum software upgrade. I think it deserves a more obvious signpost, so I'll open a separate thread for it (update: see here https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/problem-with-pms-dms-conversations-work-around.11614/).

Sending direct messages seems to generate an error:

View attachment 7328

but it does actually send the message. It's rather confusing though, as it leads people straight in to retrying with the resulting potential duplication.

The error message is the usual b@ll@cks too - tell me what the problem is, not just "server error". And "try again later" is not a solution, as if time somehow always magically fixes everything. It rarely does IME.

I went to the profile to report it there as suggested but it gives.........

Oops! We ran into some problems. This user's profile is not available.

............... I am assuming this is due to it already being banned.

There was another "new" member - no posts but registered in May, Aaron[something]. Clicked on the profile and got the "Oops" message.
Next time I looked they were gone. Suspected scammers are showing up in the "Members Online" list but don't have a profile - are they in the process of being banned or don't you have to create a profile (it's so long ago I can't remember the sign up process).
