Sticky Bits
The soft-touch coatings in my (18 year old) car have gone sticky, that's hardly left in storage! However, it's mainly the less-used buttons that are affected. Unlike leather, I can't imagine skin oils prevent the break-down, so for my money use helps remove the stickiness as it develops before...- Black Hole

I do not agree with that article implying rubber coatings only go sticky if not used. If they appear not to, it's because continuous use erodes the coating as it degrades.- Black Hole

Ditto (what an excellent bridge camera – ie fixed lens rather than SLR – the only thing I miss is 'bulb'). I had the same problem, the exterior soft plastics became extremely tacky and the camera was unpleasant to use (despite remaining fully functional). What worked for me was a liberal...- Black Hole

One-legged pigeons (or one-footed?) rarely enter my thoughts, whether on a station platform in Bath or not. ;) This recording was on 7th May at the Colston Hall*. * Now called Bristol Beacon by/for the wokerites, but not by me! I'm not sure it is, I think RS deduces it from the mux list. So far as I can see, the region is only relevant to RS deciding whether to use your EPG data as a contribution to the overall RS EPG cache. My boxes are all shown as Wales on RS, but I've never chosen that. I think it's picking the area of the first mux in the tuned list.- Black Hole

They're not apps, they are on-line portals accessed through the TV Portal via a Humax server, and are no longer functional because web technology has moved on. (I'm extrapolating)- Black Hole

Ovens and paint strippers are for gung-ho types who don't mind if it all goes tits-up. Of course you have little to lose, but IMO the chance of success is so minimal as to be pointless, at risk of additional damage. Is it possible to trigger NASMount to mount a NAS when that NAS starts up?
It would have helped if I had spelt it correctly, I had several attempts none of which "looked right". Temporary aberration (but they're becoming frequent). I'll forget my own name next.- Black Hole

Copy/backup from one Humax to another
That is a misconception. auto-unprotect only removes the flag which prevents a recording being decrypted, it does not decrypt the recording. That is a separate process, and you cannot play a recording made on one 'fox on another 'fox unless you do something about it. The only naïve way to "do...- Black Hole
