Remote Scheduling Potential Conflicts
Thanks for the feedback, my tests bear out what you've said. If I set a zero reminder and the box is in low-power standby, the box wakes up but almost immediately goes back into a low-power standby state. I guess I'll have to set "Power Saving in Standby" to off while I'm away to stop the boxes...- phit03

Yes they were all running the same version of the custom firmware but I'd turned off auto package update after I had a problem with it some time ago so a lot of packages (including rs) were out of date. I updated them all and lo and behold the problem seems to have gone away. Silly of me not to...- phit03

Yes, most likely. Problem circumvented for me by using the Foxsat to record the program instead of ther HDR-FOX.- phit03

I tried it on my Foxsat-HDR via the web-if and that was successful. That seems to use Jim as well, different code I guess but I seem to remember the Foxsat version was based on the HDRFOX version.- phit03

Thanks af123, I've set up each box with a 2 hour interval and will do some testing to check it out. I've noticed that the red last seen message at the top of the webpage that shows the date and time last contacted has stopped being updated. the last date and time was around 5pm on the 18th...- phit03

Thanks af123, not too high a priority for me as I have implemented a batch file that pings the boxes every 5 minutes and sends an email if there is no response from a box. However, using RS would be a better option as I have to have my AV server running 24/7 to run the batch file.- phit03

I do keep the boxes out of standby for the majority of the time as I am often in Spain for a month at a time and keep them out of standby to make them accessible during the day to be able to setup new programs and also transfer files over the internet to Spain for viewing there. I don't know if this has been suggested before, apologies if it has and has been turned down. I've had occasions when I've been away from home and a box has locked up requiring a power cycle to restore it. I have the ability to do this remotely using X10 switches but sometimes don't notice...- phit03

Not that I can see. I haven't looked at other browsers to see if they put out similar warning messages though. I'll try them when time permits. However, I gave up on Firefox, it's too slow now compared to Chrome and IE11 is even slower!- phit03

Thanks af123. I'd overlooked the fact that I'll be using my Dynamic DNS address to access the box when away from home so there's no point in changing the package unless you really want to. I'll live with the warning messages, they only seem to occur during the first access of any browser...- phit03

Yes, but I've also considered the stress caused by having the box powered up 24 hours a day and the extra power consumed and heat produced by doing this. Does the box do a full power cycle when put to sleep or is it just the hard disk that is spun down and the processor put in a sleep state? The...- phit03
