My T2 has died - I think !
So, option 2 didn't work - no surprise there. Still a totally blank box. Unfortunately, my bootable linux usb was stuffed so I wasn't able to test option 3 last night. Thanks for the fast replies. I'm at work just now but it looks like my homework for this evening is :- 1 remove the 2TB HDD and see if the box boots connected to nothing more than the power, 2 if so, stick the original 1TB disk back in and see if it still boots, 3 if not, hook the HDD up to the...- tonybonner

Attempted to take my T2 out of standby yesterday and it just went into an eternal re-booting loop - showing and re-showing the Humax logo screen with just blank screens in between. Problem connecting to new tv
I don't think this is an 'issue'. My hummy is connected directly to my Samsung TV by HDMI cable - no switches involved and it is the second TV it's been connected to. My normal usage is bring hummy out of standby and then start TV. The on-screen sequence has always been :- 'No HDMI source...- tonybonner

Recording Failed: Unable to track programme
I suffered similar disruption to the OP during the football - but with a slightly weird twist. Specifically, on Fri 1st :- The 7.30pm Coronation Street produced a "Recording Failed: Unable to track programme" - 0 min entry The 8.30pm episode did exactly the same but then, around 8.45pm I got a...- tonybonner

Manual doesn't mention wi-fi connection?
It's a bit like the advice to lock your valuables in the glovebox/boot of the car - it just means any drive-bys looking for some free wifi don't see mine. I really don't mind if they hack the neighbours instead ! :D- tonybonner

Yep, trying to keep it as simple as poss. I let DHCP allocate IP addresses initially and then set up reservations with tags so that I can see easily what's what. I thought that guaranteeing a reserved IP address would be sufficient but 'Humax said no'.- tonybonner

Never had any timeout issues entering my 16-character wifi password ! What I did have a problem with was my SSID. I had set my router to NOT broadcast my SSID as an additional security measure. This had the unfortunate consequence that every time I re-booted the HDR-Fox I had to setup wifi once...- tonybonner

It had, in fact, crashed 5 times in 16 mins at which point SWMBO gave up on it and went to bed. At that point she decided to surf the net and discovered we had no internet connection- I only found this bit out afterwards. Scheduled Events Disappearing
All episodes of The Missing have recorded fine for me too. Could there have been some regional variation perhaps due to local events? I'm on STV (Central Scotland) - Blackhill transmitter.- tonybonner

Is this a Humax failing, or more fundamental?
I record F1 coverage regularly and can confirm that the one series link (set via handheld remote) does capture recordings on both channels for me. I do, however, recall that there were some 'misses' in the early part of this season, so perhaps BBC haven't always got it right - or it may have...- tonybonner

I know this is stating the obvious but sometimes that's a worthwhile exercise. There is a potential gotcha with the plan in post #4 to "upgrade Box B to 2TB then ftp all of the contents of Box A across to it then swap them around".
