Apologies for any confusion af123 is correct, to keep costs down they only licensed some codecs, the GPU in the pi is capable of doing it via hardware.
If they can mpeg2 via software then I'm sure they will with the raspbmc project or openelec which is another variant but not so far.
Hi Yep I just managed to try with Raspbmc RC3 (http://www.raspbmc.com/) and here are my findings
1) SD Content will not stream anything but sound, due to no licensing on the MPEG2 decoding, read here - http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?tid=863 it may happen at a license cost in future...
Hi
I've been struggling to get my Sony CX523 in the spare room to stream via it's inbuilt video player from the humax hdr fox t2, it would see the files but not play .ts files.
So after a bit of playing, I tried unprotect - still no joy, I also decrypted a file - still no joy.
I installed...
If you can find a dlna server for your phone then yes, blackberry os 7.1 has this (and video & photo), pretty sure aceplayer for iphones does, must be something for Android
Wow awesome speed of update to CFW :)
my box came with 1.02.27 - CFW'd at the weekend, will probably be this weekend until I get time to update but thanks :-)
Gah I too hit his issue today with my sony tv it won't play the ts files, I've decrypted and converted one to mpg but not indexed by humax dlna server yet :-(
I was lucky enough to get a raspberry pi which I have loaded with xbmc but not had time to test - of course that means another ethernet...
I've got ipad 2 and used aceplayer to download and play sd content, works well can access media via dlna (enable sharing on humax) no jailbreak or custom firmware needed you can stream or download for offline viewing (on plane etc)
For hd I've enabled auto unprotect on humax but aceplayer...
Had some more humax time, and noticed in the webif it shows if an item is indexed by the DLNA server :-) having had the unit on a lot with the football it's all indexed now and working as it should :-) will look into remote scheduling server.
Haven't had a chance to read the wiki as much as I...
Strange the auto unprotected recordings still don't show on DLNA but for the manual decrypt I did via the web if the file in the original file shows !
Anyway since found iPad 2 isn't up to playing 1080p hd files, if with jailbreak and Xbox media centre, haven't tried DLNA enabled Sony tv yet...
Thanks for the replies
I should have noted - do have the sharing working just that non hd content only is showing the folders for hd series are just showing empty.
Thanks for the note on flow chart - I had seen this which is why I thought removing the flag was all that's required, thinking...
Hi
I purchased a 1TB HDR FoxT2 after reading on here it would do all I needed, record and allow playback to ipad / another DLNA enabled TV / PC :-) of course it does much more!
I've installed CFW HDR_FOX_T2_1.02.27_mod_2.11 and the WEBIF
I also installed 2 packages: auto-unprotect &...
My HDR-FOX T2 has also shipped with software FHTCP 1.02.26 , loader a7.31 (Update Date 03 Jan 2012)
Quite keen for the CFW but a bit weary of a few of the bugs as it's a beta only release so think I'll try and hold on
