Thankyou.
Back home and re-scan done. I didn't realise that a re-scan would remove the scheduled recordings, I just thought they would potentially be unreliable. Sorted now.
Hi,
I'm sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I looked around and could not see the answer.
Today is the 1st of two changes to channel allocations in the London area. When I get home I will rescan / re-tune my HDR-Fox-T2, but I wonder if I need to delete scheduled recordings / series linked...
That makes sense, but I'm sure when copying the 'virtual' disk the HMT file is much smaller once on the VD - which I assume is a consequence of the Humax firmware re-writing it during the un-encrypted copy.
I believe I see the decrypted hmt go from around 15K to a few K using the virtual disc method, but stay the same size (but altered) if I decrypt using the web-if, which places the original files in an 'original' folder. I may have this the wrong was round as it's from memory, but I did wonder...
Probably BBC HD but I've deleted them now and cannot remember the details. It would have been mid-Jan onwards, during a period I was out of the country. On-line I cannot find any mention of recent repeats, but they were shown in the schedule as I set 'record entire series'. Strange, maybe it was...
Now had three AR faulures, one months ago soon after purchase and two recent over the past two weeks - two episodes of 'the swatm' failed to record due to 'failed to track' issues. All other AR recordings have worked perfectly.
Horizon, Higgs Boson worked fine for me off Crystal Palace. It does seem more of a region specific issue for the most part rather than the broadcasters got it wrong most of the time.
If not the BBC, Ch4, etc, then it's the company doing the playout (Red Bee) or a localised transmitter issue...
All Dolby-E broadcast surround audio should include an ideal listening level in the stream in the form of a dial-norm setting, which is basically an average loudness level not peak level. From this surround amps should take note of that setting and set things to an ideal starting point. It's set...
I've noticed that using VLC for decrypted HD content on the PC, some but not all HD ts streams playback stereo with sound levels that constantly ramp up and down - so annoying. Pan Am, a new Belgium HD programme all do it, but some other HD content doesn't. Not sure if it's a VLC issue as I'm...
Sorry it's still not working for you.
I had three HD programmes scheduled yesterday evening all using AR and also overlapping - Sherlock, To Boldly Go and The Great Barrier Reef. All recorded just fine. Sherlock kicked into record just a few seconds before the actual programme started, rather...
Thanks for the clarification re. 4GB and DLNA. I now recall that a lot of my 40min HD recordings come in around the 2-3.xGB and I seem to remember Sherlock Holmes being 1h30 or so came in around 6-7GB's.
< I'm surprised a show like that would be larger than 4GB, and also why there would be a 4GB issue (sorry if I missed there is a limit on all Humax recordings - or was this a transfer to a removable drive?).
I've never had anything playing or paused when recordings are scheduled. I just leave the box recording, esp. with 2 HD recordings on the go. I don't even log onto the Web IF during that time.
You mentioned that you've seen problems when your playing/pausing other content - but I believe you...
Definitely - using the Humax remote or web page service to access the EPG is awkward compared to the Toppy's EPG (and I do not have any Taps running). Seeing what's coming for the week ahead on a channel, or across channels is much quicker on the Toppy. Those who have not experienced this will...
Hi Phil. I still have only had one AR failure, which coming soon after purchasing the T2 dented my confidence in AR. That said, and I've only recorded HD programmes with my Humax (for SD I'm using my 5 year old Topfield), I've had no other AR failures across 60+ reocrdings from BBC1 HD, BBC HD...
I checked my box tuning and all channels are off Crystal Palace with ch31 being the only HD specific group. Hope things work out during the proposed 2 switchovers for London come April/June time. So far I've only had one AR failure, and that was an early morning film many weeks ago. All other...
I wonder if it would be possible to parse the EPG data and check set recordings against programme title rather than just rely on event ID? Just for the odd occasions where the broadcaster omits data i.e. AR info of they mess up what's needed for series recording. Just food for thought, and...
Playout of BBC, Ch4, UKTV and loads of other channels is handled by a seperate company, Red Bee, and it's their equipment that puts the little hop at the begining of credit squeezes (too expensive to fix apparently). Although the BBC is ultimately responsible for it's own channels, I wonder if...
The break in transmission was weeks before I started using AR, I only found out it was due to planned maintanance later on. At that time I had padding set but as I was watching the programme go out I manually started the recording. Perhaps it was bad luck after many AR successes it failed the...
That was uncalled for an a bit nasty!
This was soon after I got my Humax and when I was watching Pan Am all the HD channels went dead for several seconds. I wondered what had gone wrong, maybe a weak signal or such which was possible as this was my first Freeview HD box, but later found out...
