One way FTP is a bit odd - any firewalling on your PC ?
What messages does filezilla report when attempting the inbound transfer?
You should see these in the filezilla Message Log section - usually near the top of the filezilla window.
If you can't see the message section, click 'View'...
Apparently it's a lingering effect of the problems at Red Bee Media which happened over the weekend. Not seen any indication from C4 or Red Bee of when the service will be back.
Port number 22 is correct for a SSH connection (secure shell) and port 23 is correct for a telnet connection.
Both SSH and Telnet are terminal connection protocols, telnet is less secure. Putty wants to make an SSH connection by default but can be told to use telnet.
If there's a CEX outlet anywhere near you it could be worth checking their website for second hand PVR HDDs. For example, the Seagate Pipeline 500GB model ST3500312CS with a 2 year warranty is currently widely stocked for £8.00.
So from what we can tell the IP stack on the HDR is working (DHCP server, ARP entry and ping response) but some of the expected services aren't responding (telnet, http, samba). There is some evidence from the telnet install log that the location where the CF services live (/opt) is...
Doubt it - install.cgi is sitting there. I think it might be your browser.
If you hover the browser pointer over the 'download and install button' does the browser indicate the link ?
Does Chrome block scripts or have you got a add on that does?
Ensure that the humax is trusted by the browser...
AFAIK all custom stuff is put under opt so try looking for cgi-bin there.
cd /opt
find | grep cgi-bin
On a full install there are various cgi-bin directories under webif - not sure where they'd be on a partial install though.
I've not needed to install for a long time, but you do have to follow the instructions carefully. The dates/times on those files correspond to raydon's release 4.1.3. I'm not aware of any later version and there is just the one FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf file. The choice of USB drive often seemed...
