Ah....we could be getting somewhere....if I connect the RF out from the Humax to the TV I get zero signal on the TV. So maybe the Humax's RF connector is broken? I have an old HDR-Fox T2 in the loft (broken fan IIRC). How feasible/easy is it to swap the RF hardware between units?
Presumably I do that simply by selecting each transponder on the Signal Detect screen and pressing the Enter button? If so, the results show 25-30% Strength for all transponders apart from 48200MHz, which jumps between 30% and 36%.
Quality shows as 100% for all 6 transponders.
I'm using the...
OK I've now completed a manual retune but things don't look much different. If the TV reports 95% signal strength from the same source then can I assume that there's nothing wrong with my aerial?
Sorry I missed Black Hole's previous about the manual tuning procedure. Believe it or not I don't think I've ever come across that before.
So I have a couple of queries regarding a couple of the instructions from that link:
do I only need to search the 7 channels listed in the "N" column from...
Ok I just realised that I can change the transponder on the Signal Test menu (doh!), so I changed it to match the one that the TV was using - 546MHz. The Humax is now showing signal strength of 25% - worse than on 482MHz, and worse than the TV's 95% signal strength from the same source
???
Hmmm....this is interesting...I finally found the signal strength menu item on my TV - it shows a signal strength of 93:
If I unplug the RF cable from the TV and plug it directly into the Humax, the Humax shows a signal strength of 10%:
Maybe there's nothing wrong with my aerial - maybe it's...
Thanks for the link - interesting stuff. My table includes a couple of minus numbers (30- and 28-) - see below, but based on my chart can I assume that I need channels 23 to 55 inclusive, and hence a Group T or Group W aerial?
Is there any way of telling what group of aerial I currently have...
Thanks - I'll get someone in. As a matter of interest, what sort of minimum signal level should I expect? I'm in the Greater London area, but the house is at the bottom of a hill :0(
My T2 is increasingly losing its TV signal completely (i.e. a blank screen with the "no signal" message), or the picture is breaking up badly. This also causes some scheduled recordings to fail. According to the hidden settings menu I usually have a signal strength of about 30%, although...
Thanks. Unfortunately chrome://settings/handlers only shows me a couple of existing handlers - no option to add to them. "Open in new tab" and "Open in incognito tab" both go straight to file download.
Presumably the web IF changes you mentioned are something to be done by a dev type person...
That would be ideal, but I can't find a way to do that in Chrome. I can choose which app Firefox uses to open specified file types, but it will download the file first anyway
Anyone know it's possible to get Chrome or Firefox to stream .ts files?
Ah Ok if I paste the DLNA URL into Chrome it downloads the file. I'd prefer to stream it, so presumably the Pale Moon browser would be a better option for me?
Has anyone tried watching content stored on a NAS or SMB share? (e.g. x264/x265 mp4 files?)
In theory I guess you could use Kodi, or any Android File Manager/media player which supported LAN folders, but I was wondering what the playback experience was like in practice?
I do this alot using a...
I'm trying to access the hidden service menu as follows:
Menu->Settings->System->System Information...RED GREEN YELLOW BLUE GREEN YELLOW BLUE
...but as soon as I press any of the colour buttons (while looking at the System Information screen) a "No Entry" sign appears on the top right and I...
