Hmmm...strange that your drive is silent. I think i've got the same 2tb pipeline HD that you have. Maybe I was just spoiled with a very quiet 500gb drive. I am worried that the new drive seems to make my fox vibrate though. It seemed ok when I fitted both my HDDs in my pc to transfer the files...
Hello All,
A few questions for the pros of hummy.tv
Basically my HDR is making too much noise. When I first got my box I never heard the fan spin up but now i hear it around half of the time.
Below is what sysmon shows:
Is this normal? It looks like the fan is doing its job and...
Unfortunately I dont think its going to be that simple but I might be wrong. The 9200t does save its files as .TS but I dont think the Fox will play them without modification.

Strange issue this one!
But watever it is doesnt seem to be rectified by getting a replacement box! This problem seems extremely rare so the likelihood of two people getting two faulty boxes in a row each is extremely unlikely - unless the issue effects them all!
It seems probable that all hdr...
I tried converting an ac-3 file to aac on the box using ffmpeg. Poor little thing struggled - half expected it to start billowing smoke. I didnt even have the patience to let it get to 0.2% before I had to reboot the box. I lost tv picture (still had sound) and the hummy was completely non...
Doesn't work :-)
Interesting that just renaming the file makes the file unplayable in windows but the humax just seems to ignore the extention and treat the file as it did before (playing until the sound starts).

Success!!!
ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c:v copy -c:a copy -sn output.mp4
Audio stays ac3 but the Humax seems ok with that if its in the mp4 container rather than mkv
The Hummy converts the file at around 200fps - 1hr file in around 5mins
This works for the particular files I was having an issue...
Have you started samba using webif service management?
If so I would have thought just refreshing the network folder would do?

I'm at work at the moment but will see what I can do when I get home.
I see another option might be to repackage as an mp4 without converting the audio but I think that looses suftsubs and don't want to learn Japanese.

[Solved]...ish. The Humax is ok with ac-3 audio in the mp4 container but not mkv so running it through ffmpeg on the box makes the downloaded mkv files playable. See below....
Hello all,
Essentially I've been using the transmission bit torrent client on my hummy and I'm loving the prospect of...
Thanks I'll give that a go. I'm also gonna give "mkvextract" and "mp4box" a go.
Would be cool to have an on-the-box option though.

Has there been any developments with this? I've got loads of mkvs I'd like to play on the hummy.
Like the OP says - they seem to start to play video making me think its the audio thats the issue?
If there's nothing that can be done to make the files play as is - is there an easy way to...
I'd also recommend going green! You can actually see the display when the box is in standby!
It was a slightly more involved procedure than I thought it would be. As long as you're patient and careful you will be fine though.

Yeah it was when I saw that on the dropbox website I thought of it. I dont know how it could be implemented though? Or even how useful it would be given the size of video files.
