I am not sure what I am getting away from?. I took early retirement some 10 years ago so there is not much to escape from apart from the cooler temperature in the U.K. I am heading 2000 miles south where I usually go in the winter. A trip to Thailand and to Egypt has delayed this trip until...
I had realised that I could format in the box but had thought it would be easier from a computer. I must read about the 4K alignment issue whilst I am away as the apartment we are in has wi-fi. I do have a SATA docking station so I may well be able to transfer via that although I may start to...
Thanks to you all for the links posted. I have decided to copy any recordings I value and replace the Hard Drive with the Seagate 2tb model. I believe that I can format the new disk with one of the partitioning programs in windows if neccessary. I will be ordering from Amazon as my wife is...
I am not sure if this is related to the problems here but there are similarities.
My 1tb
HDR Fox T2 has been slow responding when starting or stopping recordings. I have just run Fix-Disk for almost 18 hrs but stopped it because I thought I saw the same sector being refered to in the log...
I have installed samba and have transferred the files from my PC to my Humax HDR. The files were a series of programmes I had missed and were in the mkv format. I had to re-do them via mkvmerge and then Avidemux. They are now loaded onto the HDR and playable.
Thanks for the relevant information.
But my XP system can access all 3 Humax machines via the Custom Firmware. Undoubtedly there is a problem somewhere but I do not intend to spend a lot of time looking when I have a method of doing exactly what I want as pointed out in post no. 10
I can use FTP on my laptop and can transfer the...
Many thanks "MontysEvilTwin" for your confirmation of the possibility of file transfer apart from FTP.
I already have NSA in use to enable access to both of my HDR machines by the HD machine. An SMB (Samba?) file mount will do the job and I will research that. As you say it is not that...
Thank you for the replies. Filezilla does work on my windows 7 laptop so it can work and my settings are the same for both PC's. What no one is answering is if I can transfer via the CFW browser interface.
Does not connect but Webif does so that would seem to be the logical option. I connect to my NAS via a browser interface which is very easy to use.
I have switched off the firewall and virus software (which is the same as on the laptop) to no avail.
I have searched for a solution as to transferring files from PC to Hummy via Custom firmware. My XP computer will not transfer via FTP (filezilla) however my Windows 7 laptop will. As I do most of my work on the XP desktop I would prefer to use that machine to transfer my MKV files (having put...
Just to confirm that my unit was delivered by Yodel. I however paid for next day delivery which was fulfilled. I also got the email and text message from Yodel regarding delivery. This was delivery on July 4th for a July 3rd order.
After reading the various comments on here I looked at my unit (received Friday 4th July) again. It appears from the labels, on the quite clean box, that mine was picked from a warehouse rather than a shop. It is very clean and had the plastic across the front although not on the top. Remote...
Just powered my HDR T2 ,which was delivered on Friday, up to check its functions. Data is as follows FHTCP 1.02.29, Loader 7.33, Updated 05 jul 2012 and M.A.C. DC: D3:21: etc.
Ser no. 63710561101320
It came in full retail packaging so may well be the last of the new HDR's.
Many thanks for the link. Placed my order (all branches near me are out of stock!) for delivery tomorrow (Friday) It will be interesting to see if I can network all three when this one arrives.
The shares are working as I can see and operate them from the HD Fox T2 so they must be mounted and accessible. The scanmount log says so. The problem is neither of the HDR Fox T2's can see each others "mount" as a usb drive. The files you say to reinstall are those which perform the mounting...
My apologies for the delay in responding.
Yes there are usb devices plugged in(flash drives) and when I select menu, video, blue button and then usb I get # "usb disk 2.0" then "virtual-usb" and finaly "foxy" (my name for the 1tb HDR) listed from top to bottom. I am able to see the other HDR...
The members of this forum very kindly sorted out my installation of Network Shares previously. I now find that although my HD Fox can see the files on both of the other HDR Fox machines (1tb and 500mb) they cannot see each others file. I am able to see and use files from each machine via the...
Recorded files are encrypted as a norm on each machine so would not work on another machine, unless you are using the CFW to decrypt. I have 3 machines networked 1 HD and 2 HDR. This was the thread which sorted out my linking all the Humax machines...
It seems that there is more to the question posed in the original posting.
My objective is to be able to play episodes of TV programmes which I have missed or have taken to watching subsequently. Downton Abbey and Silent Witness are examples. I obtain these in the MKV format usually so making...
