I hope that's what happened to mine today.
Internet router was connected but no traffic,
phoned my ISP and they had a database fault refusing to connect their users ... a new, odd fault.
Six times my Humax crashed rebooted today,
I unplugged the network cable and it still crashed so I assumed it...
Mine got into that state with the "delete" loop message.
First run of FixDisk didn't fix it, just hung.
Third run of FixDisk fixed it and got to the end of the process, giving me the option to fix the "delete loop".
Before FixDisk became successful I used putty to navigate to the correct...
I've been running this purple drive since July, and it's been good.
Less problems than the original Seagate and not a single installation glitch.
One month isn't much but so far ... good buy.
I renamed three sidecar files from a different film and placed them in the folder and autoDecrypt is trying but failing.
I shall find this HMT utility and the encrypted bit bit now ...
While there are plenty of folk here switched on about Sidecar I have a silly problem.
I have a sigle encrypted HD recording with no sidecar files at all, I foolishly deleted those files after moving this recording off my old HDD (that was in this Humax earlier) and back onto my Humax with it's...
I know this is way into next year but this is the only applicable thread I can find to Necro.
I had a similar problem some months ago : using NiceSplice MagicFolders to edit(crop) a lot of files.
One day the [cut] folder (which is in [edit]) seemed to be unaccesible : navigating to it seemed to...
Wish me luck, new drive going in when this one's finished a fix-disc.
Not much on tonight : The Saboteurs but I don't really mind if I miss that.
Disc is in, recognised, formatted.
Downloading Webif, seems to hang at channelicons.opk,
I'll try from the other PC...
Repeatedly failed to...
Playing the HD .TS files on PC from my Humax T2 often gives dodgy results, so my first step is to use the option QuickStreamFix in VideoRedo on my PC.
I found VideoRedo to be the quickest at fixing the files which can come with plenty of audio errors.
Alternatively I recode them to a much more...
Yes they are surveillance drives but they are suddenly available for less money than CE (AV) drives (and a lot more stockists to choose from) and reading a bit deeper into it shows they may be somewhat overengineered in good ways for PVRs.
I will reply on this thread with the code and whether it...
Yesterday FixDisk actually completed, after another round of CloneMultiply etc etc just over 2 hours,
which is a good sign.
The Seagate Pipeline I was about to buy wasn't still available so I'm going to try a WD Purple, hope it works in the Humax.
From my point of view every single poster has been helpful so wearing a black curly wig let's "calm down, calm down",
now does anyone know who wrote "magic folders" which uses nicesplice?
(Yeah it's off-topic)
Just so there's nothing to argue about auto-unprotect etc : I intend this disc to be empty before reformat.
All video files are to be decrypted and copied to PC or backup drive using FileZillaFTP.
Probably on Saturday since that's when I record the least programmes off the telly.
Good methods.
This week I arr mainly aiming to decrypt and empty the existing drive completely, then reformat.
What type of reformat does the Humax box itself do? Is it deep enough to get it properly fresh?
All good advise : it is clearer what I should do next.
Is £50 decent price for a Seagate 1TB "CE" drive?
Current firmware can format a 2TB drive so if that's not much more dosh ...
If I make sure every currently-in-Humax video file has been decrypted, would those files be acessible to my PC in an enclosure?
I could swap in a fresh new hard drive and move the decrypted old stuff still on the old drive when I felt like it ... ?
I'll wait until someone recognises this particular problem : moving everything off the drive is a big task but doable.
Worst case I could swap in a fresh drive : surely there's a list of good compatible drives on this forum.
Whenever I run fix-disk it finds a lot of multiply-claimed-blocks
and seems to hang for ever (hours) after it's automatically answered YES
to the line
Clone-multiply-claimed-blocks?
Is there a starting option to answer NO to that line question?
I can't sit there waiting to pounce when that bit...
Those files were never played : they were all the result of nicesplice magic folders and this is the first time I've looked at them from within the Humax telly controller.
I've never had any trouble with playing files and stopping them.
I suspect (vaguely) it might have something to do with...
