PuTTY - using telnet
I have been unable to use telnet. I am using PuTTy to access the box via telnet. My version of PuTTy is 0.78 and it is different to that shown in the wiki for tenet. Is this the result of splitting the input signal?
Please show me how I should have constructed this question: "I have two identical HDR FOX T2 machines which were tuned identically but I get a different result when I examine the signal strengths. Is this the result of splitting the signal." I fail to see how it could have been more succinct...- makem

I really just wanted to know if splitting the signal across two boxes would be an equal split or not. In my ignorance I didn't know if the difference shown reflected an unequal split. I would have been happy with the answer, "No, it is not". Followed perhaps by an explanation of why not. I now...- makem

'This' being the (for me) total difference in the two results shown in the jpgs. I will do a retune as they were done at different times and I have just seen the comment about tunefix which I need to find out about.- makem

When I had my lens (eye) replaced there was an immediate dramatic improvement in all colours. Previously they had been muted with a brownish sort of overcast. I was able to compare before and after as they do one eye at a time. I no longer need glasses for driving/distance but must use reading...- makem

I uninstalled redring and re-installed it. The settings from the previous install were picked up so remain the same. I did notice that when I turn the younger machine off using the remote it is unreachable via the network. However, the older machine (the one with the 'ring' problem), remains...- makem

Sorry if my age is beginning to show. I certainly do feel like a beginner in many subjects I was never taught or needed to learn in depth nowadays, but that goes with age I suppose. I was working full-time using a pencil aged 15.- makem

I was unaware that when 'off' via the handset the ring showed a colour of any sort. I thought that 'off' was no colour as in the younger of the two machines. For me it made sense to have no colour for off and a colour to show what was happening when 'on'. My settings are, no colour when 'off'...- makem

both working fine :D Just waiting for the Panny one. Btw, I have a sound bar connect via optical. I used to have it connected via cable to one of the TV HDMI ports and it switched it on. However, now, using its own remote I have more options. But, its remote is tiny, no buttons, just raised...- makem

Ok after discussion with hwmbo I have decided to replace both Humax remotes using the Ebay referral from Black Hole. They do appear genuine. As for the panny one, well they want £42 including delivery which seems a bit steep as there are what appear to be genuine one for less on Ebay. Do I take...- makem

I installed that and on setup it asked which unit. I chose '1'. It worked. Once set to '1' I was unable to see any way to set '2' or in fact any of the other devices it listed.- makem
