Well, to be honest I couldn't find the thread referred to - the search doesn't seem to work. I guess I should have tried harder to find it. I read 'Things Every...' again and googled but didn't spot it.
For what it is worth I think I have resolved my crashing issue. It turns out my network was badly configured, I switched router a couple of weeks ago and, although I have manual IP address configuration the same on both I forgot that the default route is different (I give the routers different...
Yep sorry guys, meant HDR - bad day on the keyboard.
It's been slightly better the last couple of days but I have been trying to avoid leaving it on More4.
Don't know if this helps at all but my HDD has also been crashing a lot the last few days. I've been away from these forums for a while so I may have missed something but my diagnosis so far is the disk seems fine and the crashes happen most often when left on More4 but not exclusively.
I made the mistake of ordering the 1TB WD Purple for my HDR as well. It seems to function ok (still in the first week of use) but I have had some odd behaviour. For example yesterday I had trouble with my broadband (no internet access for several hours) and the HDR locked up (no data recorded by...
Thanks all for your suggestions and input. I can safely say the fan is working as it should now with the temperature rising and falling as expected. There is very little chance that the fan was obstructed before but I suppose there is a remote chance that the connector was not properly pushed...
Ok, the temperature has now risen to 53 degrees and sysmon is not reporting the fan coming on at all.
Should I consider that there is a fault in a sensor and just revert to using 'fan' to force it on? (The humax is in a cupboard so noise is not an issue.)
See sysmon log attached. Note, 11am is...
Lots of bad sectors I'm afraid. I have a suspicion that the fan may not have been running properly, I had arranged a return of the drive and when I went to take it out the housing was literally too hot to touch. Sadly I did not have sysmon installed although I have done so now, I also installed...
Hmm, well last night my WebIF was reporting disk problems so I decided to take the plunge and run fix-disk in maintenance mode. Started at 8pm last night and it was still running this morning when I left for work - just an endless stream of bad inodes and the like that are being fixed. IF it...
I have been having lock ups this weekend too. I am still on 3.02 and have made no changes recently other than a new hard drive a couple of months ago. On Saturday morning I noticed that the box seemed to lock up when trying to play a recording, I power cycled and eventually got it to play (three...
Could do (have a few spares around) but I like to see what is going on when the remote becomes unresponsive. There have been times when the front button will cause it to come to life and I would rather do that than power cycle if I don't have to. I can also monitor as it comes up to see if...
In my case it isn't a second TV, it's the first and only one, the reason I don't have the Hummy by the TV is because it is mounted on kitchen cabinets and there is no obvious place for the Hummy and even if there was it would get all greasy in the kitchen. I have my Hummy in the cupboard under...
Just thought I would weigh in here with my experience since I seem to be one of only a few people using these cat5 HDMI extenders with the Humax. My Hummy is located under the stairs next to the consumer unit which is also where the aerial lead comes into the house and is distributed to various...
After a lot of experimentation I found that MX Player seems to be the most reliable for playing video from the Humax on my Android tablet. I connect to the network drive and play the .ts files directly which seems to work better than using the web interface and also works on HD files if you have...
I've been using that feature on my Android tablet for a year or two now to watch the news every morning while I am getting ready for work. I hadn't noticed you could get it from the Hummy but I guess it makes sense.
This would have helped me this week as an old hand. I replaced my hard drive last week, copied all my recordings off the old drive and had been happily using the new drive for a week before I noticed that none of the new recordings were being decrypted. For some reason replacing the drive had...
Hmm, just a thought though. My first auto is a list of all films since 2008 which just emails the list. When I run online it returns 125 matches today. It used to be that the email would only send the new ones (for the new day in the EPG), could it be that recent changes mean it is trying to...
I've been getting the same 'too many matching events' for the last week or so. No changes to my auto schedules and when I run each manually they work fine so I have no idea which is causing the problem.
Not sure if I have understood this right but I think the OP is wanting to run the sync job on the Hummy since it is unlikely to be possible to run any jobs directly on the NAS.
I looked into this and ran into all sorts of issues. I am familiar with rsync and it was the first place I looked but...
