So I popped out the blank plate and moved the aerial socket across - sadly made no difference.
Next I tried actually pulling the aerial socket and cable out of the faceplate (the electrician luckily had left some slack - and the whole thing is hidden in a cupboard anyway). That appears to have...
Thanks, both, for your replies. Yes, the aerial socket is next to the network point (see attached photo). When I remove the cat6 cable from the extender the picture/signal is fine, but as soon as I plug it back in the picture breaks up and freezes again.
Is there any solution?
Hi all, for several years I have used an hdmi extender/splitter to play recordings in another room over cat6. This has worked really well until recently when having the extender unit switched on instantly causes the signal to drop in and out and the picture to break up. Turning the extender unit...
Hi all, my 6+ year old FVP-4000T is getting a bit flakey so I am considering buying an Aura. One immediate question I have - can you control (ie switch channels, play recordings) the box using the app, or is that just for scheduling recordings etc? The great thing about my current Humax is that...
Dear all, thank you so much for all your insights and suggestions - having worked my way through all the pointers above, I have tracked the problem down to a lose connection between the cable that feeds the Humax and the amplifier. I have tightened this up and am now getting the same good...
I will need to check this.
Again, I’ll check this one out.
Yes.
Thanks Bottletop - I’ll need to check most of these - will come back later.
Re the first point, yes I get the picture breakup when watching live on the Humax and also directly on the TV if I switch the AV source to that rather...
Yes, I have an aerial amplifier, with two cables coming off it - to two different rooms, each with a TV connected to it (one with the Humax). When I’ve experienced picture break-ups on the Hummy TV I’ve simultaneously turned on the TV in the other room and the picture is perfect. So that...
Thanks Martin - yes, both tuned to the same multiplexes, and the HDMI and aerial are well separated. Signal strength and quality is 75%/80-100% - but as this is an intermittent (though frequent) fault, I’ll check again when the quality next drops out.
Hi all, I’ve had a FVP-4000T for about 4.5 years now, with no issues, but over the last few months the signal/picture quality has been getting increasingly worse, ie pixelated, stuttering, frozen picture etc at first occasionally but now for much of the time. At first I thought it was the...
Hi all, we‘ve had an FVP-4000T for several years and have been able to watch and control it in another room using a combination of hdmi splitter/cat6 and the Humax remote app (all thanks to the great advice from you guys on this forum).
However, we will shortly be moving into our new...
Many thanks everyone for your great comments and suggestions - really helpful (and kind) of you.
Thanks also for clarifying a few things for me. I’ll probably pursue the hdmi to cat option, but as I’m going to be re-cabling anyway, I will give the coax aerial distribution idea some thought too...
Thanks for your very helpful reply, Dark Hole.
I don’t need simulcast. I am currently able to connect my smart TV in the kitchen with my Humax FVT 4000T in the living room via DLNA over wifi, but it will only play my SD recordings, so it feels like that option is ruled out. (Incidentally I can...
Hi all,
I have the opportunity to re-cable my house and in doing so would dearly love to finally solve the problem of watching recordings in the kitchen from my Humax in the living room.
I’ve tried assorted AV senders over the years and even bought the Humax H3, none of which have provided a...
