You should allow quite a few seconds for the 9300 to go into full STANDBY before switching OFF at the back otherwise your next problem will be file corruption as Martin suggested earlier.
My Partner's 9300 has never suffered this loss of recording schedule, apart from the well known playback...
What voltage rating are the original capacitors? If they are 16v then they are probably part of a 12v supply or less so 16v is fine, don't put in a lower voltage than the originals. They are also temperature rated, 85°C and 105°C from memory, go for the higher temperature in a power supply...
Did you mean Automatic Search rather than factory reset (I assume you mean Default Setting). A Default Setting has always cleared the previously stored channels on all these early Humax boxes whereas an Automatic Search has only cleared previously stored channels with later versions of software...
I'm amazed at some of the comments in the posts above, my 9200 works fine. I do note that people are referring to having channels in the 800 range, this indicates that the 9200 is not tuned correctly so you're asking for problems. Give the machine a chance and set it up correctly.
Yes I felt fairly satisfied when I discovered what was causing the problem and how easy it was going to be for the average DIYer.
I don't think the Maplin cleaner did the job of removing the residue that stops the clock, a bottle of meths would probably have been cheaper and have done the job...
Well done for getting the clock going but I fear your repair may not last, time will tell :). It's obvious that your cleaning fluid didn't work and I believe the only reason the clock worked after removing the super capacitor was because the action of soldering has disturbed the problem coating...
I'd be tempted to reload the software when the cable arrives short of any other ideas. Follow this with a Default Setting and if you end up with channels in the 800 range then do a Manual Search as well. If all this fails to resolve the problem then I agree you may have a hardware fault.
Yes the machine reboots and starts an Automatic Search as part of the Default Setting procedure. If you find you have channels starting at channel number 800 after the Automatic Search then you'll have to do a Manual Search otherwise you'll get problems with recordings.
The software is not...
Bit of a bodge but if you wanted to get on with it now you could chop the cable say 6" from one end, peel back the insulation and screen (if any), identify the wires from pins 2, 3 and 5 and reconnect them as my post above, no other connections are needed. If there is a screen reconnect it, it...
Are you using a 'null modem' cable. If you've got a multimeter you can check the connections from one end of the cable to the other. The only connections needed from one end to the other are
Pin 2 to pin 3 at the other end.
Pin 3 to pin 2 at the other end.
Pin 5 to pin 5 at the other end...
I should have made that clearer. What I meant was the actual end time of the recording was almost certainly 10:00 and if you had been watching the Hummy at the time of the end of the recording you will have seen this.
Where you have consecutive recordings on the same channel I think I'm right in saying that the padding between the programmes is cancelled so I'm not surprised the padding was removed from the end of On The Buses. However there should not have been a conflict between G & M and Top Gear so I...
And still does Martin, I think I can only remember one occasion where the end was cut off a programme I was recording from a channel that uses AR correctly. You can probably confirm this with your T2 but for a few months now I've noticed the 'start signal' is being sent earlier than it used to...
