I really like the simplicity and reliability of this software, as well as the fact that the recordings can be played on any machine, including my Humax Aura. (Recordings made on the Aura can only be played on that specific machine due to encryption).
For me the downside is still the need to...
@andyk The ability to recreate thumbs and sidecar files is something I have been looking for also. Would you be willing to make your mods available and explain how you run the process daily (nightly!)? Or point me in the right direction if I've overlooked something already in the CF...
I have found this discussion most helpful. Like many others I am planning my HDR Fox-T2 replacement. I have had two for many years, which has completely solved the "running out of tuners" problem. We only watch HD, so one does the BBC channels and the other one does Ch 3, 4, 5. Sadly, one is...
Something I would find useful for the guide is a time-ordered listing of one channel, accessed by clicking on the channel name. I often use the one in the Humax custom firmware when I'm looking through the listings to see if there is anything of interest coming up - a screen clip is attached.
a. Delayed start is the answer, now starts up ok.
b. It now works. Thanks very much!
c. Oh, ok. Where does the (e.g.) <aired>2020-10-15</aired> in the episode .nfo file the program generates come from then?
I found this thread while catching up with HDR Fox T2 developments on the forum, and wondering about whether the new Humax Aura might contain the functionality I look for in a DVR. So I installed the program on a spare PC a few days ago and so far it has proved stable and completely reliable...
Another update. My dropouts started to get more frequent again.
So I called into Richer Sounds, who sold me the TV, and the guy there said he had lost count of the number of customers who had had similar HDMI problems with this LG TV. His considered advice was "go back to optical and stick...
The TV is on firmware 04.70.95. I use either HDR Effect medium or Expert dark, no user adjustments.
With the TV on, a long press on the input selector button on the remote will give you a screen to configure all your inputs.
The Humax loader is version a7.30.
Custom firmware version: 3.13...
The startup splash screen is at 576p resolution, and the box switches to the selected HD resolution once boot is complete.
I seem to remember a long time ago that I had some sort of similar problem of a missing picture, which was cured by doing a factory reset on the Humax. But you will...
I too have just got a LG TV (OLED55B7V) and experienced constant audio dropouts with both my HDR boxes. Tried all the suggested solutions, including the Pin 13 isolation, without success.
Then I noticed that my soundbar ( Azatom Stealth) has HDMI inputs and an HDMI(ARC) output. So I...
Thanks all for the prompt responses!
Now I need to think of more things to automate, maybe volume down if no movement detected for 5 minutes (viewer has gone to sleep!)
I've recently started getting into home automation (blame the Raspberry Pi!) and one of the things I can now track is when my doorbell rings! Someone at the door usually triggers a frantic search for the Humax remote.
I have been using the webif interface to control my box very successfully...
