  You are correct, for DVD output the only options for the audio are LPCM/WAV or MPEG In your original post, did you mean to say that it is not AC3 enabled?

  It handles AAC fine, and in the latest versions it converts the LATM header AAC (which UK DVB-T2 uses) to the much better supported ADTS header AAC

  I only ever use it to edit and save as TS and then I use MeGUI to convert to 720p x264 MKV I'll give it a try with MP4 output and report back

  Smart Cutter looks good to me! The UI is a bit of a mess but actually very easy to use. The "long range slider" and "short range slider" work very well together. If you don't want to install it they do provide a Portable version which is a RAR file you can extract to anywhere and just run it...

  When it comes to video encoding, faster usually means lower quality. The tests I did with Freemake reducing to 720p were awful - unwatchably bad.
