Tunefix I'm after the simplest tunefix: to replace all lowdef version of the channel by the HD version taking the lowest LowDef channel number as the final destination of the HD channel and removing the LowDef channel. Just reporting back: queue listing faithfully restored! Many thanks prpr. Didn't see the 'like' link. Done! One last problem: I need to change my aerial to point to Oxford rather than Bedfordshire. Have looked in settings, but no luck. There's the preferred region in the tunefix, yours I...- boris

Thank you prpr! Much appreciated. I did that with the queue database but not with the webif. I thought it too dangerous (if the webif relied on records within the database and they won't convert because they are corrupt..) Losing the queue wasn't such a risk compared to the main interface. -- I...- boris

Managed to catch a log whilst it was still logged. Looks as if the code is looking at the /mod/etc/webif.db is that right? That file doesn't look very happy. humax# stat /mod/etc/webif.db...- boris

Off-Topic to Black Hole : I'm in Bucks. It's been about 20C here inside at 'boris Towers' for the last few days. Using the temp and monitoring packages, installed a few days ago. Setting the minimum fan to 35% seems to skate close enough to the wind to get away with hammering the machine...- boris

Thank you MymsMan; I've just become one of those people that utters the inevitable sentence "I swear blind.."! The webif-error.log file was blank when I made the initial post. I am convinced I saw a few lines of error, with one interesting one at the bottom, in there yesterday. And it is clear...- boris

Not sure whether it was a crash of the system, it has had a few of those recently, or a package update. The series of daily crashes seems to have stopped as quickly as it started. I've installed the temperatur and fan packages just in case it's that - it hasn't been that hot around here of...- boris

LOL! I'd just run a couple of tests to come to the same conclusion. I searched for a full (and exact) filename that I know to be there, and then replaced one character with a single character wildcard ? I am sure I've seen a post that does the same thing though, perhaps it was just in the same...- boris

Thank you for getting back, it's not a recursive search though. I'm looking for a file of a particular name (with wild cards for the numeric part iof the filename) in a particular folder which has no sub folders. Should be something like: fileexists [Films]/%asfilename:%%candidate:* where...- boris

Recording challenge - need a genius (or a 10 yr old)
Connect the camera to a computer through its USB or other facility and there's plenty of software to take time lapse to keep the storage requirements down. Nothing stops you putting a live stream on the web to watch whereever you are.- boris

For all my playing about I can't work out how to test whether a programme (in this case film/drama genre) which is saved in the "My Video" directory...- boris

Haven't you missed the most helpful option? I almost exclusively use the TV Diary with a list of actor's names, likely titles, likely nattatives and so on in the WatchList tab. It is fantasic!!! It really pains me that I have to copy and paste it into the EPG page to actually schedule it! I...- boris
