I was certainly hoping it would be. And if you're looking at what is out there right now it may still be. But if you've had a T2 you're not going to feel that way. It has loads of potential to get there though. My used replacement T2 is such a better option once I had the confidence to buy one.- confabulator

Problem. Have an old faulty T2 with 2TB drive. Also have a new working T2 with no HDD
Yeah, auto unprotect is compulsory on every unit, I just didn't mention it specifically as for me it's part of "installed and ready". I do intend to have recursive decrypt on which would make most of this moot, but I intended that in the past too and for some reason it stopped happening leaving...- confabulator

Problem. Have an old faulty T2 with 2TB drive. Also have a new working T2 with no HDD
So following up from the above, I have a dead Fox T2 and a replacement T2 set up with CF installed and ready. The HDD in the dead one needs to transfer over as it's 2TB and my replacement box only has 500GB, it also has recordings I'd like to retain. It is though, mainly, not decrypted. So I finally bought a replacement T2 from eBay which I clearly should have done in the beginnning. For £45 + delivery I've got a one previous careful owner box. Looks mint, the warranty sticker has clearly never been moved to it must still be on its original HDD - which is remarkable and...- confabulator

I've been making do with direct recording to HDD from my TV since the T2 died. It's far from ideal but in a world of catch up TV I'm not missing lots especially as the kids are now older and live pausing isn't quite so necessary. It's the live pause I miss most though. So I'll sit tight for now...- confabulator

So the significant feedback on the T4-R I have to give is I have returned it. I haven't though excluded buying it again further down the line after it's evolved. I didn't want to get stuck with a box that just wasn't quite enough for me to live with if it didn't evolve. There were a number of...- confabulator

For sure. But the same as on the Fox T2 and I have no need for more. And the Manhattan is more likely to be supported properly and without so many quirks.- confabulator

Sorry if my lack of understanding makes me difficult I've started afresh, downloaded stripts.exe into it's own folder. Downloaded cygwin.dll, unzipped it and put it in the same folder. Running now I got a Windows Defender warning I had to bypass in order to run stripts. I said run anyway and...- confabulator

So stripts.exe was in c:\downloads with cygwin.dll inside the folder in downloaded in, that folder also in C:\downloads. Strips just said cygwin1.dll not found. I've now copied cygwin.dll into C:\downloads rather than it being inside a folder. When I run stripts.exe now I still get error...- confabulator

Hi. Apologies to come to something that established so late but I'm trying to learn how to offline decrypt using windows on my laptop and struggling. My first thought was to use EEPhil's HFODU2 Java based solution. I downloaded his zip file, unzipped it but have been unable to get it to run...- confabulator

So next time I have chance I'm going to rerun Fix-disk now I'm on 3.13 but I'm not expecting a miracle from it. No point not retrying though. In terms of second hand units, anywhere you suggest I look other than the obvious e.g. eBay? I'd buy an Aura with them back in stock but they sound...- confabulator
