1000s custom firmware

Hi all,

I am willing to purchase an hb1000s as I read a lot of good feedback, however the fact that there seem to be no custom fw due to the encryption of the fw.

So I have few questions:

1 is there any hope to decrypt the fw, I could perhaps help as I have some Linux and encryption knowledge. I would love this sort of challenge, Can you point me to the right people ?

2 is there another device with same capabilities within the same price range (excluding foxsat) where we can play around with Linux and watch TV ?

Any OTA will contain a LUKS encrypted disk image.

So it seems unlikely.
