Just changed from Foxsat-HDR to 1100S. The Foxsat had a LNB1 out connection, which allowed a 'loop' arrangement from LNB1 to LNB2 sockets enabling recording one channel whilst watching another. No such connection on the 1100S. As we cannot have two wires from the LNB as we are in a rented apartment this could be an issue, though not having used the box yet it may prove a no-issue - any thoughts?

I think it has an internal link that is automatically activated when a single feed is detected and should work the same as a Foxsat with a single feed and loop connector.

The box works even better than the Foxsat-HDR using a single cable. It provides the same capability internally, plus it adds time shifting on any third channel you can view and also lets you record any viewed 3rd channel from the time shift buffer after any of the two recordings finishes. By using a watch reservation for the third channel you can ensure the buffer is complete for the 3rd channel recording.
Thanks, I have tested and perfectly possible to watch one channel and record another which was my concern, as I read this in the manual:
"Your Freesat+ box can record one channel while you watch another. Or you can record two different channels, and play back a recording you made earlier. The box will need to be connected to the satellite dish with two cables. If you only use one cable, this feature won’t be available"
It's not clear from the above which of the two features described "...won't be available"

The key is where Graham said "any channel you can view" while Humax only says "two different channels". The LNB at the dish can only send about a quarter of all the channels down any one cable at any one time, using a signal sent up the cable to select which particular set (high band or low band, horizontal or vertical polarisation).
So your choice of second channel is limited, whereas if you had two cables your choice of two channels would be unlimited (but a third channel could be limited to being from the two sets, if the first two were not from the same set).

That's fine, don't have a problem with the three -channel scenario, its the first sentence in the manual paragraph I quoted i.e "Your Freesat box can record one channel while you watch another" that was bothering me, as I had (mistakenly as it turns out) linked that to the sentence saying "if you only use one cable, this feature won't be available"

Basically with one cable the channel tuner 1 is using determines what tuner 2 can use.
You need the following info for the channel tuner 1 is using.
Frequency Band High/Low - There are very few Freesat channels in the High Band
Channel Polarisation Horizontal/Vertical
Transponder Frequency.
Tuner 2 has access to all channels in the same band and having the same polarisation as the channel tuner 1 is using. Because there are very few high band channels that will normally be a little less than 50% of the total. Because the BBC has regional SD channels in both polarisations then you can affect the channels that tuner 2 has access to by recording an alternate region.
Third channels available
Recording two from the same transponder - Any 3rd channel is usable subject to the above band and polarisation options.
Recording two from different transponders - Any channel sharing a transponder with either recording is viewable.
This works because the Humax tuners can demux two channels from the same transponder so this only requires one tuner.
There is a file in Excel or HTM (viewable in a web browser) downloadable from the above thread with this info.
Simple Example Recording BBC1-HD (England) and BBC2-HD (Same transponder 10847 Vertical Low Band)
