Alexa compatible?

Does anyone know if Amazon's Alexa can control an FVP500T?
There seem to be a very few discussions on this subject, and those seem to be filled with 'if's and 'but's.
Can anyone give a definitive answer, and if the answer is yes, an idiot's guide (I am that idiot!) to how to do it?

I would say that, unless Alexa is somehow capable of replicating all the correct infrared control codes for the 5000T, then the answer is no.

If you have a Logitech Harmony hub or a Sofabaton X1(S) remote control, the answer is yes. I can ask Alexa to turn on TV, turn on BBC News and so on. It's fairly limited, but is possible.

It's possible to mimic the remote control by sending the correct data to the right port via the network connection from a PC or similar. I doubt whether there is any available app or program that Alexa could access that could tap in to this.
