Anybody Know how to manual tune ITV Granada? I'm on London and would like to get ITV Granada without messing everything else up.

Go to Menu/Settings/STB Mode/OK. This changes to Non-freesat. Press Menu again to clear screen, then List.
The various regional channels are listed there. You may have to go through this process each time you wish to view.
Go to Menu/Settings/STB Mode/OK gets you back to normal.

Easiest way is to do a freesat tune and enter a Manchester postcode (MA2 4JA). Then use customise channels to move BBC1 London to 101. You will still have ITV1-London on 977. Using non-freesat makes recording difficult (no timers and you can't record freesat mode reservations while using non-freesat)

On a similar note and not wanting to hijack the thread:
I haven't yet purchased the Freesat Hummy but have had a Humax 9200 Freeview box for several year - and love it.
In Freesat mode are you limited to 1 BBC region and 1 ITV region as determined by the postcode entered?

Then use customise channels to move BBC1 London to 101. You will still have ITV1-London on 977.

Does this mean that BBC1 London and ITV1 London are available no matter which postcode is used?
If I use my local East Midlands postcode can I still view BBC Northern Ireland and UTV in Freesat mode?

Thanks

BBC1 NI is on channel 957 on my box. UTV is on non-freesat mode 5091 and can be viewed by using the method described in #2. I don't think you can put it into favourites.
If you go down this route, navigate to 5091 using the arrow keys and OK twice.
The next time instead of using the arrow keys push RED several times and it will be in Recently Viewed.
I don't know another way of doing it. Somebody else might!
Customise BBC1 NI as in post #3 if you choose.

Thanks 4291 for your reply.
So can I generalise to say that most BBC1 regions are available in Freesat mode but only the "postcode defined" ITV1 region?

Plus ITV1 London on 977. If y0u use a London postcode 101 and 977 are then both ITV1 London

That is my understanding, but I stand to be corrected.
The stations are being beamed from the satellite so as long as you are within the footprint the Humax will pick them up.
The postcode defines which you choose to view on Freeview. Putting in a NI postcode and you get NI programmes.
There are ways of getting around it I suppose.

How often would you need to watch UTV? If it is just for regional news I would leave well alone. It is not much of an effort to change modes.

Don't show the kids how to change to non-freesat mode. There are some unsavoury stations on there although most of them are encrypted.

Hope this doesn't offend. I don't mean to preach. ;)
